Lol, I've been around, just not on the boards asmuch. Lol jazzcat or whoever he is, can post all he wants. I'm not on this site to * troll * the forums. I'm hear to share my input and analyze what you guys are posting. I've been buisy with my jazz however. I'm studying allot with, Gerry heburt, pat belavou and gareth hues, and playing at local jazz clubs expanding my horizens and getting out in the scene. Actually, once i've graduated jazz school at mount royal, I think I'm going to move to Montreal, because the jazz scene there is larger then in calgary. + Newyork will be a short distance away.

Police whistles are over rated. The only audience you will atract will be more along the lines of the Cainine speecies. I would suggest the triangle. It is more harmonic and if your good enough, you can bust out the triangle to some parker tunes

Alright guys I am looking for some great artists to listen to and I want you to name some names. For the past 5 years I have been pretty much blind sides by Parker. Charlie parker was my major influence and he was the only artist I bothered looking at at analysing. however Since I got my tenor I'm starting to open my eyes to a wider variaty of jazz and the artists out there. So Far I know of John coltrane, Sunn rollins, Geraldn Albright, Cannonball aderly and Don patterson. sunny stitts David sandbourn. Brandford marcelious. What other famous jazz artists are there that I should look at? I want someone that has the same sort of Be-bop style that coltrane has. I also listen to other instruments aswell, dizzy gillespie and Miles davis. If you guys can tell me some other musicians I should listen to that would be much appreciated.

Awsome man, Given the fact that you wen't on your own wim, to purchase guitar books to teach yourself how to become a better jazz player shows great determinations and some even better potential surrounding the jazz world. I've always been a huge fan of the guitar for jazz, its so technical and some of the riffs people play are mind boggling, even quicker then some of the lines * The Bird Himself plays* Keep up the good work man, Thanks for sharing what book worked best for you, I'm sure others will pick it up and have the same experiences.

I can understand why they did that, the be-bop style was new to the schools and they wanted to keep everything the same and make sure they have control over the sudents. however be-bop is the Shizzniz, and should never die! I am all about jazz and be-bop, but I don't go as far as dress it. I wear diesel baby! I'm a sexy sexy cat.

There is no bagpipes in teh Mocking shadows. oviously there is another band out there called the mocking shadows. And I am not talking about them. Forget I mensioned anything guys.
