  1. The vinyl for Tolliver is available on Amazon and importcds.com but not the CD. Importcds lists the label as "Pure Pleasure." If this was a Mosaic exclusive wouldn't they own both formats? I just ordered through Mosaic. $6 shipping for a single CD is mighty steep. Perhaps they'll ship it with the forthcoming Mobley Mosaic that I preordered....
  2. Hi, I'm interested in this: Jameel Moondoc - The Muntu Recordings NoBusiness. $45 If it's still available. PM Sent. Thank you.
  3. https://www.gshock.com/watches/g-steel/gstb100bnr-1a Saw this is available according to Blue Note’s monthly news letter. I prefer the look of the watch they did 25 years or so ago that you got by redeeming Connoisseur proof of purchases. Not only do I not like the look of this watch but $420 is out of my price range.
  4. I grabbed all of the titles on BGO and I think that they are excellent. That led me back to the Rendell/Carr quintet and then Ian Carr's music. Great music. Touches of electric Miles at times, otherwise just chock full of solid tunes and great playing Not a clunker in the whole bunch.
  5. Saw this in my Apple newsfeed this morning. Passed at age 81.
  6. Hi- So I ended up with two of the new AEOC box set. As opposed to sending one back, I'd like to offer it here for $75 which will include media mail to the CONUS. I prefer paypal or an Amazon Gift Card. Thanks.
  7. I don't think that this has been mentioned, but my set was numbered as 2133 out of 6,000.
  8. I can't seem to figure out the cart to process a purchase...my google page translation is letting me down. Is there any "easier way?"
  9. Up...$7 each or all three $18 including postage in the lower 48.
  10. import cds has a coupon code "TAKE10" that can be used to reduce the price to about $70 plus shipping.
  11. "As always, please feel free to reach out to us with suggestions, comments and feedback at suggestions@bluenotereview.com. Dig you soon, Don Was / Publisher, Blue Note Review" "Dig you soon"? That alone could be a deal breaker for me. I wonder how long it took come up with that.
  12. Roy was promoting the Habana album when he came to play at the local Freihofer's Jazz Festival. He had an early afternoon set. Near the end of a tune the audio to the audience cut out. Roy was at the end of the stage killin' it. I don't know if he realized that the audio to the amphitheater was lost or not...perhaps the monitors on stage were still working, but he was well in front of them so he may not have known that either. What I recall vividly is he played his ass off acoustically for about 90 seconds to finish off the tune, filling a 5500 seat venue with an unamplified treat. The ovation he garnered was uproarious and so very well-deserved.
  13. Just read a piece by Nate Chinen regarding his death due to cardiac arrest. He was apparently in the hospital undergoing dialysis. His early RCA/Novus stuff is superb.
  14. I'm looking into purchasing a subscription to Greenleaf Music. For $50 I can have access to all 65 of the label's releases which I can download in a variety of formats. I'm wondering if anyone else has, or is, a subscriber to the series. The $100/$150 levels involve physical product being available but I'm not sure that the other perks are a sufficient enticement. Thoughts? Subscription Link
  15. Offering for sale the following CDs- Codona Codona 2 Codona 3 $8 each including shipping in ConUs. All discs/inserts are in excellent condition. Codona has a thumbprint/smudge on disc which doesn't affect play. Take all three for $20.
  16. I've had the "Skip Dr." for number of years and when called upon it has always done the job. It was about $15 at the FYE store in the mall way back when.
  17. $82 including shipping to preorder through importcds.com I'm in. importcds.com
