  1. Thank you. I sincerely appreciate it! Makes me feel a lot better. Adam Lane New Magical Kingdom playing now. Right up there with Ash Can Rantings which is one of the label's best.
  2. Hey guys - anyone place an order and get a partial order? I placed a large order and only got two discs. Just thought I would see if anyone else had the same experience. Thanks.
  3. Let us know if that is correct., out of curiosity No digipack here.
  4. Hmmm - I am going to have to see if I have the other one somewhere. The poster there said that disc 1 is plagued with "Thin and distant sounding drums." Weekend project!
  5. Interesting comment. Folks on the Miles list complained about the subpar sound as compared to the Japanese "1969 Miles".
  6. Agreed - although I received a copy for a review I wrote, it looks like it was the original, not a promo version, and it is exactly like mjazzg's.
  7. Anyone here know when this is over? Been working on an order for over a week but carefully listening to them on MOG first - gotta same some ducats for other things. Thanks!
  8. Just wanted to thank you all for the price alerts. Ordered from amazon.de myself. Nice price.
  9. Thanks for the recommendations on this thread, despite the fact that it was derailed in Hoffman-like fashion. Anyway, this is one of those labels I have never gotten around to for the most part and am especially interested in the Rudolph Johnsons (I have heard the Carns and they never did anything for me).
  10. Bringing this one back up. Anyone have any of these Sahib titles that can comment on sound? Worth picking up from DG?
  11. Was this ever announced? I don't remember this at all.
  12. Can anyone comment on the following: 1. What is included and how is it included (all bonus cuts and multiple alt taks or at the end)? I am asking because I have a few of the older ojcs. 2. Sound quality or mastering (not to get all Hoffman on this point but curious nonetheless)? Thanks much for any guidance. If it's like the other sets in this series, it contains EXACT copies of the OJC cd's released in the States in the late 80s and early 90s by Fantasy. The cd's are enclosed in cheap mini-lp sleeves that, incidentally, are NOT exact replicas of the original lp sleeves. Ok, thanks for the info. Sigh. Starting to think that this applies to those Pop Market boxes as well. Trying to avoid the constant circle of rebuying what I already own.

  14. Indeed. Worst thread ever. The Monk and WR boxes I ordered from Zoverstocks are now a few bucks cheaper even than last week.
  15. Thanks for the tip on the Monk and Weather Report. Why would I want to buy the Mingus if I have the 2CD Bluebird of Tijuana and the latest remasters of Ah Um, Alt Takes and Dynasty? Is it really worth it for those last three records? I have the blue/purple border of Let My Kids.
  16. Funny - I think a lot of their records of more recent vintage are better than many of the early ones. Tim Warfield, David Binney, Alex Sipiagin, Adam Rogers, etc.

    SACD player?

    Thanks much, Lon.

    SACD player?

Random - and I suppose this is more directed to Lon. Have any of you or Lon used the ipod digital input on the Denon? I played hirez stones downloads via the FLACplayer app on my ipad and it sounded good. Wondering what the resolution was, of course and whether it was true 24/96 or downsampled. Do those access the 32bit DAC?
  19. My ringtone for about five years or so has been The Art Ensemble's "Theme de Yoyo." Opening theme through the "breakdown." Makes me chuckle almost every time I hear it.
  20. How do you get those in without the bulk? Just jam them in the case? I have these as well but I usually keep them out of the case (for various grateful dead, floyd, U2 etc).
  21. Yeah - I used to shop at Reckless all of the time and got great bargains - until the entire interweb community found out about them (you bastards!).
  22. I don't trust anyone that creates an Adele station on Pandora to know anything about music whatsoever. I still by CDs. Hell, it's generally the only way I can buy music that's coming out that doesn't sound like shit via MP3s. New Tim Berne? CD only. That's just one example.
