  1. The Audiolab LP has 3 tracks on the Federal 10-in LP. "Bull Fighter", "Theme" and "Since We Said Goodbye".
  2. The Jazz Factory CD also has 8 tracks from the Audiolab LP AL1538 recorded in LA in early 1954.
  3. Bump. Still looking for- not yet giving up hope!
  4. That is my problem- uploading from my computer. I will try using IMGUR. Thanx.
  5. I tried JPEG and PDF files and both were rejected as being too large.
  6. Live in Antibes, France. CD on Kipepeo label. This not the 23 July 1967 session that has been released on the Domino Records label.
  7. My all-time favorite occurred when Dave Brubeck was playing "For All We Know" live at the 1958 Monterey Jazz Festival. Midway in the song a plane took off from a nearby airport and was clearly heard at the festival. Brubeck immediately segued into "Off We Go Into The Wild Blue Yonder".
  8. Good question. Releasing two versions would not be economic so the most popular version was released.
  9. Sad story. Very good advice!
  10. Speaking of Woody's "Jackpot" Dave Brubeck Quartet also had a "Jackpot" LP recorded in the Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel in 1967.
  11. The soundtrack for "Vanishing Point" is excellent. So is the movie!
  12. Was recorded on October 9, 1957. Blue Note released it thereafter.
  13. Jack Chambers biography of Dick Twardzik "Bouncin' With Bartok" is a masterpiece!
  14. Dave Brubeck banged away but what a great improvisor.
  15. I would not call Ted Gioia's book stodgy, if you are referring to his "West Coast Jazz" classic. IMHO this is the best book written on the subject. I have re-read it several times and refer to it frequently.
  16. Another TV show "Frankly Jazz". The "Stars of Jazz" TV series was documented in an excellent book by James A. Harrod. There were 130 broadcasts. Extracts from many shows were released on 36 Calliope label LPs.
  17. Regarding Transition TRLP-8. My suspicion is that the session consisted of only 3 songs and was never released. "Train's Strain" was issued on TRLP-30. All three including "High Step" and "Nixon, Dixon and Yates Blues" were issued on the Paul Chambers Mosaic Select #5. It is possible that there were additional songs but I doubt it. According to my Transition LP discography the session was on April 20, 1955. The Chambers Select shows a date of April 20, 1956, which is probably a typo..
  18. Not exactly on topic but the Jubilee LP has been issued on CD.
