  1. Well, I've been posting my radio playlists for seven-plus years, and this is a New Year, so I might as well start a new thread. "Straight, No Chaser" originates every Monday evening from 9:00 to 11:00 at 91.3 KBCS-FM in Bellevue, Washington. But each program is also stored in the station's audio archive, at www.kbcs.fm, where you can hear a streaming version of the last two weeks' programs whenever you like. This Monday, to celebrate the New Year, we listened to John Coltrane's "My Favorite Things" on "Straight, No Chaser" on KBCS. We also heard several selections featuring the great avant garde drummer Sunny Murray, who died last month. Here is the complete playlist for the January 1 program: John Coltrane -- "My Favorite Things" -- My Favorite Things -- Atlantic -- 1960 Paul Giallorenzo Trio -- "Fractures" -- Flow -- Delmark -- 2017 (N) Tom Guarna -- "Run Signal" -- The Wishing Stones -- Detiny -- 2016 (N) Joshua Gerowitz -- "Morning Landscape Illusion" -- Solano Canyon -- pfMentum -- 2016 (N) Sunny Murray Trio -- "EMOI" -- 13# Steps on Glass -- Enja -- 1994 Sunny Murray -- "Suns of Africa, Part 1" -- Hommage to Africa -- BYG Actuel -- 1969 Cecil Taylor (with Sunny Murray) -- Lena" -- Nefertiti, The Beautiful One Has Come -- Arista -- 1962 Archie Shepp (with Sunny Murray) -- "Consequences" -- New Music, Second Wave -- Savoy Jazz -- 1964 Albert Ayler (with Sunny Murray) -- "Vibrations" -- The Copenhagen Tapes -- Ayler -- 1964 Satoko Fujii Orchestra New York -- "4" -- Fukushima -- Libra -- 2016 (N) Thomas Chapin Trio -- "Bad Birdie" -- Menagerie Dreams -- Knitting Factory -- 1994 Nate Wooley Quintet -- "Elsa" -- (Put Your) Hands Together -- Clean Feed -- 2010 Odean Pope (with Sunny Murray) -- "Scorpio Twins" -- Plant Life -- Porter -- 2008 Happy New Year to everyone!
