  1. This afternoon: http://www.encelade.net/media/com_hikashop/upload/cvweb_miscellan-bd_1680796610.jpg
  2. 2. From the same LP. Whoever was resonsible for these extraordinary combinations of musicians deserves a monument!
  3. Finally figured out how to listen to BFTs on my tablet, making it easier for me to listen than being tied to my desktop computer. This was one of the facts keeping me from participating. 1. Now that really was easy. I immediately thought of this jam session: https://www.discogs.com/release/1839026-Various-Newport-In-New-York-72-The-Jam-Sessions-Vols-1-And-2 Why the first trumpet soloist never rose to star fame escapes me. Really good playing throughout. I like them much better than JATP. Oh, and that drummer was one of the greatest. His creativity is the only justification for that much rechnical proficiency.
  4. Yup. The "traditional jazz" part of Volume 2 was not on CD, so they added the two Don Byas tracks to the CD of Volume 1 with the tracks of the same Bud Powell Trio.
  5. Correct. But there were added as bonus tracks to the CD reissue of Vol. 1!
  6. Byas is in top form here. Three complete sessions, only one alternate take missing. Great sound.
  7. Now I remember: Maybe I heard something like this imprecision etc. in the music when I had a listen to the CD reissue that left me underwhelmed and made put it back in the bin at the shop. Okay, my money will be saved for the Mosaic.
  8. Oh, I overlooked that one - thanks for posting this. No idea why I didn't buy it when it was released. Will try to find a copy.
  9. Hard to understand why MPS in Germany never reissued this on CD. The Japanese CD goes for rather high prices, or I would have got me one. I must be careful about my spendings ....
