Does anyone know if any of the The Tubes first three lps (on A&M) ever appeared in mini-lp format -- 'Young & Rich", "The Tubes", "Now"......or even "Remote Control".

Well, you're probably right....but there was that ominous sounding bit "I've really learned to like...". Having never heard any of his material I thought I might have yanked the 'BUY' lever too quickly.....sounds like it'll be a good one though.

The CD had been played before I bought it. Upon first inspection after purchase, the "play" side displayed under light some blemishing from use toward the outer edges--this had been disclosed before purchase but with the proviso that the CD played out perfectly; nonetheless, this still caused me initial concern. But lens inspection at my home laboratory showed that the blemishing has not truly cut into or worn away the surface integrity of the disc. Well, at least he's thorough....but geez, wonder what other unspeakable horrors are being visited upon those poor little cds in that lab of his ?

Lifted from an eBay item description: Over the past few years I've watched copies of this CD sell at the established (non-Ebay) jazz auctions for between $65.00-$125.00. An average price expectation for dispossing of a mint copy of this CD at reputable jazz auction would average approximately $85.00. Where are these established/reputable non-eBay jazz auctions? Given the commanding presence of eBay, I'm a bit surprised that they haven't yet withered on the vine.

The "Groovin' for Nat' one that Ghost mentioned is a real nice one with dueling Byrd/Coles trumpets all around. "Child's Play" is a great song. The McGhee "Sharp Edge" is worth searching around for as well.

How long do you figure it'll take you to walk there from your office in the Cannon Bldg.? Hmmmmm???? I'll bring along a copy of Lee Morgan's 'best' cd -- Candy.

That's why I continue to tell friends, family and whoever will listen to me in the grocery store that you are the font of all knowledge!! I collected the first 251 and then decided to skip those ones because of the alt. take 'thang'.....does this mean that I'll have to sell more dope to Aric and his buddies out in WA in order to be able to afford to buy those 9300 series ones too???

The 1st 251 didn't have alt. takes and it's a shame (imo) that they started to add them in with the few from that 9300 series. The thing is, the mini-lp covers are supposed to be exact replicas of the orginals and you can't do that if you have a "Joe Blow +3" release. I hope they release this next batch without them.

Since the JRVG series is comprised of titles that Lion produced, the pool of possible releases is rapidy shrinking. It would be nice to see some of these: "Soundin Off, "The Procrastinator", "Sonic Boom", "The Rajah", "Portrait of Sheila, "Far Away Lands", Z.T.'s Blues, "Gravy Train", "Back on the Scene", "Here to Stay", "Down With It", "Jody Grind", "Lonely Town", Bring It Home to Me" etc..
