  1. Yes indeed, goes way beyond the "complicated". Nothing to be celebrated here I'd say, good riddance.
  2. Very, very good that one
  3. I was underwhelmed by my first listen to that but I will revisit
  4. That book that I'm desperately trying to deny it's existence...
  5. Yes, that's always an issue with his works. But if you do get up close they are marvellous. It also means if the exhibition is busy it can make for a very frustrating time. I chose to miss the last Tate exhibition because I knew it would be too crowded
  6. Sounds intriguing as did a few online clips so for less than £20 delivered why not?
  7. Harry South Big Band - Presenting [Mercury Records, UK 1966] So good
  8. I've just bought a copy of 'Synthesis' off the back of this discussion, thank you gents.
  9. How are these, very similar to each other? I'm thinking of buying one because of the universally positive coverage but not sure that both isn't overkill. Any thoughts/guidance appreciated.
  10. You've been missed, hope things have settled down for you and welcome back
  11. Just back from Oto Fred Frith and Susana Santos Silva, top level improv
  12. A favourite, always great to be able to see them in the flesh
  13. David Mack - New Directions [Columbia, UK 1964 mono] Yesterday's purchase, in part due to positive comments by @sidewinder and @jeffcrom (miss his contributions) found from discussions long ago here. Third stream, 12 tone moderne. Wondering if @Teasing the Korean knows it?
  14. Me too now. Thanks for the reminder. It's good to dig out some KV, I have so many so rarely listened to, as I'm looking forward to seeing him at the Oto Brotzmann tribute weekend next month
  15. I have that somewhere (I hope), completely forgotten about it
  16. Joe Harriett Quintet - Movement/High Spirits
  17. I thought this rang bells...
  18. There's recordings on that label by others that I have tried to track down but it appears no UK distribution for physical formats
