  1. Definitely legit as Sidewinder says. It's a good listen, Lateef on fine form on a variety of instruments. Ronnies house band acquit themselves well On Spotify in UK to sample
  2. isn't that true of so many live improv recordings. Just found that the copy I'd been ignoring has been sold, damn
  3. How is that one? I've seen it about bt never sprung for it Some great music being listened to
  4. Soft Machine - 4 [CBS] really enjoying Wyatt's drumming today
  5. Yes, indeed. The best of what's left in London
  6. Francois Tusques - Free Jazz [Cacophonic], 2017 reissue
  7. Definitely the one that was eluding the grey matter. Thanks. Many hours spent in there under that name. They sold gig tickets too for Electric Ballroom etc
  8. Sometimes, like when I read posts like this, I just know I was born ten years too late That shop had definitely gone by the mid-80s when I was strolling around Camden on a regular basis looking for obscure rock, best characterised as Indie I guess. The very first stirrings of Jazz interest at the time took me to a couple of market stalls and the shop on the bridge which had Jazz down the spiral staircase and whose name completely escapes me (possibly to do the the effects of other recreational activity at the time). Looking agan at that photo I wonder whether its's the same shop under an earlier guise
  9. And I remember the entire CD reissue series lined up on the wall of Ray's Jazz...picked them all off to have a good luck, I didn't buy any and to this day I can't remember why not Hope you enjoy the reacquaintance, it's a fine session. Tusques' contributions really stood out this afternoon aside from Thornton's of course
  10. I've a few LPs with Rare and Racy provenance, all purchased on eBay or Discogs, mostly free jazz and its ilk. It must've been a great shop in the late 70s/80s from the look of this small sample of its stock
  11. Clifford Thornton - Panther And The Lash [America] a longtime favourite - a gem of a recording. Only just tracked down a nice vinyl copy
  12. Joseph Beuys - Utopia At The Stag Monuments https://ropac.net/exhibition/utopia-at-the-stag-monuments as always with Beuys, very thought provoking, mostly very positive. In a commercial gallery I'd not previously visited. Gorgeously restored and very grand 18th century townhouse. Almost worth the visit for the uilding alone
  13. Similar line up on this one too All Texier albums on Label bleu come highly recommended. They are a great run, his French and adopted French bands are every bit as good as the Transatlantik Quartet. I'd say that they're better on a number of the releases. Sclavis, Romano, Deschepper, Ferris, Rabeson - there's some great players on these releases and Texier's writing is always worth the entry fee
  14. Charles Tyler Ensemble - s/t [ESP] another recent acquisition. Another ESP triumph
  15. Mine arrived a couple of days ago - one for concentrated weekend listening. Here's hoping it lives up to expectations
  16. EDQ -They All Be On This Road [Ogun] lovely version of Naima
  17. The Keith Tippett Octet - The Nine Dances Of Patrick O'Gonagan [Discus] Great writing, great playing. Here's to KT making a full recovery and making more joyously vital music as this
  18. Thanks. I'll add it to the "to investigate" list
  19. I agree. Those bass clarinets...the vibes and Sharrock amongst all the other great playing and the writing.
  20. Bev says "hello" back to you all. He's in fine fettle
