  1. Wish I'd seen that duo. Brötzmann's choice of drummer is usually pretty impeccable, I find.
  2. Today's two somewhat contrasting purchases. Both very listenable on first acquaintance Klaus Doldinger - Dig Doldinger [Phillips] Charles Tyler - Eastern Man Alone [ESP]
  3. A shame indeed and doubly so that he felt so "left out" in his last years

    Anthony Braxton

Should hope so at those prices...OK, not necessarily too expensive per CD but in such large quantities it's costly
  5. Thanks for a really stimulating listen that certainly enhanced my knowledge of Ashby and her music
  6. Terrific album This thread really is turning into Memory Lane. Firstly it was Echo & The Bunnymen, then The Ramones and now even further back, the mighty Feelgood. "Stupidity" was the soundtrack to many a teenage evening. I just looked it up and it reached No.1 in the UK album charts!
  7. Great, looking forward to hearing this. I've been discovering Ashby over the last few months

    Grace Kelly

Currently touring Europe, playing with a certain Alexander Hawkins of this parish at some point. Hopefully building up to the next chapter of Coin Coin never heard of Grace Kelly...
  9. The seller is correct, no inserts in the jewel cases. Set comes with 12x12 booklet as only information Can send photo if you'd like.Just PM me
  10. Certainly a fitting culmination to the run of the first four albums, all of which have their persuasions to be the best for me. Also, possibly where they should have called it a day Gabba Gabba Hey! I left them behind after End Of The Century Thank you soulpope!
  11. I love it when such unexpected albums appear on the board like this. I have very fond memories of that but can't have heard it in over thirty years. When Echo and The Bunnymen were good they were very good
  12. I suspected so but hoped not for your sake. Yes, that's the recording I had in mind - nice group
  13. Jeez, I hope that wasn't one way. I suspect it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and really no surprise it was magical Was there any mention of a recording? I'm not sure whether I dreamt it but something on ECM?
  14. All appear to be on UK Spotify too.

    Anthony Braxton

Once again Braxton House assume that "friendly experiencers" are rolling in £££
  16. pretty handy rugby team at the moment too...
  17. Subtitled "New York Section Composers of the 1970's" Some great music on this from Sam Rivers, Mary Lou Williams, Gil Evans, Milford Graves and Sunny Murray The Sunny Murray piece may be the stand out. It's credited to UMUM Quartet about which my initial searches finds nothing. Anyone know who they are?
  18. Hope you make it. I'm sure it'll be worth the effort!
  19. new arrival that completes my Marte Roling/Fontana set, if we discount the mythical Rod Levitt. The music's great too
  20. Marion Brown's comment "You could use this record to heat up the apartment on those cold winter days" seems apt as the UK grinds to a halt with snow and cold temperatures that many other countries wouldn't bat an eyelid at
  21. Sorry my post wasn't clear. The cdbaby price includes postage
  22. Crazy Jazz have it listed at £24 which is a crazy price. Cheaper from CDBaby at $21
