  1. Moto Grosso Feio is one of my favorites in particular. lotsa late night listnenings there...
  2. Personally, I completely agree. Aside from seeing him many times in many settings, I was lucky enough to be at the Beacon show last Friday. The trio with Sonny and Haynes on "In My Solitude" was wonderful.
  3. As my avatar indicates, Under the Jasmin Tree is an extremely important recording for me and I cannot be happier to hear this. It was the fourth jazz album I had ever heard, (The Bird soundtrack, Agharta by Miles and Blue Train were the first three) and the first recording that really spoke to me. I had it on cassette and was destroyed years ago, so waiting with baited breath for its return.
  4. Ditto on the Searchers. The Unforgiven looks great as well.
  5. I agree overall and would much rather get some live stuff, but there are some interesting demos out there that, if included, would sway me to buy it. The first take of "sad eyed lady" where they are making it up as it goes along would be one track that would do it for me.
  6. This is an mp3 download. Also available at emusic for 12 credits. I'm listening to it for the first time and really enjoy it.
  7. Love Milt. I remember an old LP I had of his with "Ain't Misbahvin'," and thought it listed him as the vocal. Does he sing as well? Anyone know where I might find that track?
  8. Great album with one of my favorite tracks of all time-- "It's Alright by Me." Love how he alternates between beautiful melodies and rhythmic pounding on the keys.
  9. The first record I owned with Ron Carter as leader: Ron Carter Bass Steve Kroon Percussion Harvey Mason, Sr. Drums Stephen Scott Piano
  10. I dig this post, and think I get the rules... My first Hubbard-- Open Sesame Tina Brooks: Tenor Sax McCoy Tyner: Piano Sam Jones: Bass Clifford Jarvis: Drums
  11. Hi, I dug a Batman comic that came out in the 90s called Jazz. It involved Batman and Robin protecting a Bird analog against beatnik drug dealers. Good use of scat as sound effects and the art was very stylized, angular and modern.
