  1. That's because you have fine taste, Buzzzz! I haven't picked up the sequel, suppose I should do that. This one is a fun album (understanding the concept makes it a blast to hear what they're doing), though obviously not quite the same as their studio recordings.
  2. Yessir! I've got a soft spot for that particular album for some reason, but I can also acknowledge it might not be their best. That particular album has Pat Mastelotto playing drums on it. Pat's also been in King Crimson since '94. I think he's a fascinating musician.
  3. I just moved to AZ, and drive down this namesake road almost every day.
  4. Petrified Forest National Park, AZ 18 April 2023
  5. And yet you likely knew exactly which century-turn that Chuck was referring to, and still chose to be pedantic. And it wasn't less precise, either. It was a turn of the century, so it was exactly a correct phrase.
  6. It's still the turn of the century, regardless of your attempted correction.
  7. I just realized that as of March 2023, this board has been in existence now for 20 years! I almost missed the milestone! Want to send out a congratulations to Jim and the other staff who have helped create and sustain this forum for that long. Like many, I came here after the shuttering of the Blue Note board. Also tried a few other jazz boards, but this is the one that stuck for me. I'm not as active of a poster as I used to be, but am glad this board continues, and am glad for the new members that have been gained along the way. Also those we've lost along the way (Jazzmoose and Christiern come to mind). Also glad for the friendships that started here and have turned into real-life friendships and meetups. I've gained and learned a lot from everyone here, both on the board and as our relationships have evolved on FB and other places. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the regular live chats we used to hold, that were a great time - listening to the same albums at the same time, sharing in beverages, and sharing stories and insults. Thanks Jim, for all you've done for the past 20 years! -Erik PS - My first post was in this thread, maybe the first thread on the forum - https://www.organissimo.org/forum/topic/2-welcome-to-the-organissimo-forums/
  8. I'm sure you realize, but the vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting Covid. What it does do is help minimize the effects if you do get Covid. My wife and I have both had 5 shots (I think 5 anyway), and she still got Covid just before the holidays. Her symptoms were mild. I'm pretty sure I had Covid in March 2020 (not provable because there weren't tests immediately available at the time), right when the pandemic started and before the vaccines were available, and my symptoms then were substantially worse.
  9. In for an autographed copy for sure!
  10. The Luna chat inspired me to pull this one out - Selected Galaxie 500
  11. I like that one a lot! Have a signed copy on my shelf. There's also a companion EP of original songs called A Place of Greater Safety. I thought I had that too but can't find it now that I'm looking. Jeez.
  12. Not familiar with that one, but the title reminds me of the old Spacemen 3 album, "Taking Drugs to Make Music to Take Drugs To".
  13. Richard Lewis is not Richard Lewis anymore.
  14. Yes - Union 30 Live 4 lp (my 4th lp is clear, not yellow, for some reason)
