  1. I second that, great album, have had it for many years now, listened to it recently and still enjoy it very much Vic
  2. He is just trying to hustle his merchandise, disgust me Vic
  3. Amen, I have told this before, but I have been so lucky to hear him several times live here in Copenhagen, when he had a full month gig, some nights were bad and others like pure gold. but his mental health was not good and Buttercup guarded him like a hawk, he was never allowed any money, so he was trying to hustle everybody in sight, so sad. Vic
  4. What kind of vultures BS, you are just trying to make a bundle. Vic
  5. I have that, and also the Japanese about Prestige and Riverside, and also the real expensive Blue Note discography by Cuscana and Ruppli (cost me a bundle). Your copy is not something that will catch much money, sorry. Vic
  6. WOW I am lucky, I have all those that I wanted, got them in due time. Vic
  7. Mine: Lester Young, Pee Wee Russell, Art Pepper Vic
  8. Happy Birthday Lon from your friend in Denmark, you are such a great guy. Vic
  9. Looks Interesting, but I will not get it, I already have 10 of the Riversides. Vic
  10. I have just recently discovered that band, it's something else, I especially like "Nine Immortal Non-Evergreens For Eric Dolphy" and "Duke Ellington's Sound of Love". I just can't desribe it, it's straight forward swing and then it changes to something else, really amazing and very good, great arrangents by Mathias Rügg (the bandleader). Any other who dig them ?. Vic
  11. Cecil Taylor and Albert Ayler, and most Dave Brubeck. I am mostly into records from early forties to early sixties. Vic
  12. I have a lot, but have only been a completist with Sonny Clark and I made it, took me 6 years to do it. I am 74 now and have been hooked on jazz since I was 15. can't be without it, play probably 6-7 hours each day. Vic
  13. The first I ever bought at the age of 15 was a 78 with Parker and Gillespie "Shaw Nuff" and "Lover Man" in 1951. Vic
  14. I agree completly with Lon, just my felings, even if I am retired and have so much that I just can't find time to listen to, and I am still buying. My collection is not so big as some of your guys is, but big enough (2150 CD's and 400 LP's) Just my 2 cents. Vic
  15. I am in a minority among danish men, I am not a soccer fan and Denmark have a not very good team, My only sports vice is PRO bicycle road racing. Vic
  16. I ordered several month ago The Jazz Couriers "Some Of My Best Friends" on Ember, have just got the information that it has been deleted and OOP, Vic
  17. Lucky me, I have almost all of them, and the ones I don't have I have bypassed for a long time, did not wanted them. I have all the BN's that I would like to have (354 of them). For the time being am I trying to fill the holes in my Prestige collection, just bought 15 in a sale. Vic
  18. I could kick myself, I have exchanged 200 original BN, about a 100 Presige and about 5o Riverside, only for getting the CD's of the same. Never realised they would be worth a fortune. I have only 3 original BN's left, look at them once a while. I miss LP's, but too late now. Vic
  19. Gladys could have fired most of the band. I was at jamsession after their concert here in Copenhagen(I was 17 years old) and Hamp and Cladys did not know about it. All the young boys were there(the bebop guys), it was amazing, Clifford Brown and Art Farmer played the shirts of of the local boys. I came home at 6 in the morning, was grounded for a week by my father. Christien was there too, have recorded some of it, I shall never forget it. What a band Hamp had at that time, and they were never allowed anything, it was just Hamp doing the usual show, what a pity. Vic
  20. Don't have the Mosaic, but have them all on individual CD's (mostly Japanese), Poppin' is a favorite of mine, but they are all good. Vic
  21. I have 3 CD's with them, but it took me a while to get used to their sound, but the more I listen the better it gets, very original band. Any opinions on the rendition on the Dolphy ? Vic
  22. I love Dizzy, have been so lucky to have seen him live 5 times. I love his bigband from the forties, it's pure joy (audio is not so good, but so what). I also care a lot about his 5o fifties big band, and just for fun "Dizzy For President". I have about 40 recordings with Dizzy. Vic
  23. Happy Birthday Flurin I am so gratefull to you for filling the last gap in my Sonny Clark collection. Vic
  24. I have most of it, but have seached high and low on the net for "100% Proof", could only find it at some ridicoulous price, could somebody help me with a copy ?, even if I have read that the sound is not too good. Vic
