  1. uh, simmer down pal. I'm sure b3-er appreciates the plug Soulstation, but don't derail other threads.
  2. Who lets an 11 year old listen to Ludacris?
  3. Yeah I have the same type. Small clock, so it gets hot from the big transformer inside. If you hold it near your monitor for a sec you might see a distortion on the screen from the transformer's electromagnetic field.
  4. It's probably a cheapo alarm clock with a transformer on the inside. The transformer gets quite warm converting voltage. Other kinds of clocks, like those found in a radio, use a wall-box, or external transformer, on the cord that plugs into the wall.
  5. Electrons moving causes friction, so any electrical device gets hot on some level, even if undetectable by humans. That's why computers need fans.
  6. gah I don't have this season yet, warned other future viewers!
  7. Three volumes? Lucky you! ← Yeah no kidding, I love Dan Dare, but I only have random scans from the internet, the odds of ever seeing or owning originals is pretty much nil for me ;(
  8. I reside in the company of 50+ snakes. FYI: That's an african rock python.
  9. Fantastic idea! Yes we have an ignore function. Reminder: Keep your drama off the forums and don't go around telling people who you've ignored. Closing this flamebait.
  10. Hrm. Make sure to use a new power cable with the new power supply (psu). Don't use your old cable. The switch on the back of the power supply powers it on, then the switch on the face should power up the actual computer. Always leave this psu switch ON*. Also check connections from the switch on the face to the motherboard. Make sure it's not loose. The only other reason I could think of for the power button not responding is if the new psu has power management features that are not supported by the bios of the motherboard. That can be fixed with some updates/drivers provided by whatever makes an 'eMachine'. *for safety always unplug your computer when trying in vain to fix it
  11. Good point, and the main reason most of that kind of discussion is a no-no on other boards is because they're sponsored by advertising agencies who might shitcan their investment in the site if they caught wind of pirated matrrial being talked about or linked to. That doesn't apply here at Org either.
  12. For people who just want for basic stuff a small Dell system would be fine. They're better than any of the other prebuilt machines and are fine for those who just want a machine for pictures or email or whatever normal people use computers for.
  13. No, unless it was made to be freely distributed...and next time ask me in PM BEFORE posting the link to said material..sheesh. B3-er and I have yet to lay down some ground rules regarding all this. Until then I'm judgin' stuff at my discretion. What I meant about 'talking' was in any discussion someone could say 'oh well I downloaded such and such and here's what I think' or 'my bootleg of such and such only has these tracks' and so forth. Just don't be specific and start naming locations or sites for downloading, methods or software, that kind of thing.
  14. Talking about owning boots or downloading is okay, but no public links to pirated music or open trading of bootlegs. If you want to trade boots with someone do it over PM.
  15. Hate them, they're awful. All the retail machines my store bought back in 2000~ or so had WD in them. Every one of them has blown it since them, that's like 5 harddrives. Just badly made garbage. We got a new retail system comprised of new Dells two years ago, and Dell, being the craptacular company that they are, also use WD drives. So far none of them have failed, but the server is getting mighty pokey...
  16. 1. Depends. Like ripping CD tracks into .mp3? Most software to do this is well documented. 2. No. You could archive the files simply to pack them into one file for sending, but mp3s don't compress any further and the filesize would be far too big 'send' anywhere, especially over email. Most commercial email clients would never allow a file of that magnitude to be attached to an email. Just make a CD out of them and send that using an old fashioned stamp and envelope!
  17. Thanks Allen, I'll take care of the old thread.
  18. /me hears Faith No More - Midnight Cowboy
  19. I've amassed quite a few now, mostly shows you can't get here in the States, like decent anime. Carnivale season 1 and 2, some Six Feet Under, Quantum Leap, a few others. Total cost so far: 0$
