  1. Oooh, I liked Yannatou's other ECM disc.
  2. Not to mention some fine representation in the Ocora releases, too. Now there is a whole catalog I wish I owned.
  3. I have a book called Songs By Sinatra where the author recreates the "lost" Sinatra Jobim album the way Reprise wanted it. I burned a CD of it- sounds pretty good. Wasn't the official version of the album only a stingy 28 minutes or so? Seems especially stingy given how much material they had in the hopper.
  4. I went to several shops over the weekend and none of them had any of the Reprise titles in stock, new or used. This is a bummer - those titles need to be available. At least some of them, anyway.
  5. Disc arrived. Man, that was fast! Thanks!
  6. It caught my eye, too. I enjoy Don Cherry's explorations into this kind of thing, but haven't picked up any of those discs.
  7. They are just having a bugger of a time with this title, aren't they?
  8. Pierre-Laurent Aimard - Hommage A Messiaen Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane - Cannonball And Coltrane Andrés Segovia - Icon: Andrés Segovia- Classical Guitar 3 CD $12 and change. w00t!
  9. I sprung for the Farlow as I am a huge fan of that material with Eddie Costa. I got the confirmation email from them, and it was missing the shipping address, so I called. Fabulous customer service! FABULOUS!
  10. You know what would be cool, is one of Braxton's graphic composition titles.
  11. I think I had this on a boot at one point. One of the first CD-r format boots that came through the record store where I worked.
  12. Maybe if Keith lives into triple digits, he'll sit in front of the piano an play nothing at all.
  13. I went into one this weekend -- those liquidation thugs give me the creeeps.
  14. Saw this on the DVD Talk forum BMG thread today.

    Jon Hassell

It is Echoes. Hearts of Space is all Stephen Hill. I have had some interesting conversations with John Diliberto and his wife [they both put Echoes together]. Diliberto was into prog pretty heavy back in the day. He dissed me and my colleague for not having any Magma records.

    John Martyn dies

Very sad news indeed. Still had it:
  17. Live/Dead is in my very favorite record of all time. Ever. Buy that one.
  18. Oh yeah. Zapp and Roger were doing the same kind of thing in the 80s, interesting to see it come to light again. In a BIG way. You can't turn around without hearing T-Pain on a record in the pop world anymore.
  19. Kawabata! Love me some Acid Mothers Temple. I have a pal who is way into them, and pursuing those CD-Rs can be an expensive proposition, for sure.
  20. I remember seeing an ebay auction about it, anyway.

    RIP Ron Asheton

That is a bummer -- I love those 70s Stooges sides.
  22. This set went from $17 to $33.56 all of a sudden. Still CD-rs.
