  1. The liners for Freddie McCoy's Listen Here credits RVG.
  2. Thanks folks. I have been busy with some family business the last couple of months. I will be hanging out here more often from now on.
  3. The single was just edited versions of Our Miss Brooks and Vicksville from the lp takes.
  4. Your listing is the correct order and composers. On the lp number 2 is two words, Chop Sticks, Number 3 is Chuncky Cheeks and number 6 is spelled Coolodge.
  5. Both of the Booker Little dates have been out on cd. The Little 4 was put out by Blue Note. The & Friends was put out by Toshiba. They are both OOP now, but you might try half.com or ebay.
  6. You can hear Stan do the real La Fiesta on the Steeplechase cd Stan's Party. I think he also recorded it on the Columbia album Captian Marvel, which im sorry to say i dont own.
  7. I dont know if it has ever been on cd, but one i like alot is a duo date Jimmy did with Al Cohn for Xanadu called Heavy Love. Just two masters tearing up five standards and one original.
  8. That Imperial album was called Jazz Impressions Of Folk Music and was issued under Lands leadership. You can have it on cd as part of the Carmell Jones Mosaic Select set.
  9. Jazzdaddy, You are correct on the record date. I hit the wrong number on the keyboard. RVG and the other guy were the engineers for the remastering and remix for the Rainbow Series lp issue, but not the original engineers.
  10. Take Aim was recorded on July 26, 1960 at Radio Recorders in LA. No engineer credit is given on the lp. The session was produced by Leonard Feather for Blue Note. The originals were composed as follows: As You Like It-Harold Land Aim-Amos Trice Land Of Peace-Leonard Feather Reflections-Harold Land Blue Nellie-Martin Banks Hope that helps you out.
  11. Mike, That Dizzy Home And Abroad is an interesting case. The four tracks recorded in NY are listed as only Atlantic. The eight Paris tracks seem to be a bit more muddy. The Home And Abroad lp 1257 is out on Collectables, so Warner Bros still has the tapes. If they leased those tracks, you would think that lease ran out decades ago. Kind of weird.
  12. Dick Wetmore was/is a jazz vioinist. I dont think he recorded much. The only thing i have is his self titled 10" lp on Bethlehem. Judging by the sidemen on that date, Ray Santisi piano and Jimmy Zitano drums, he must have lived in the Boston area at the time.
  13. All the best on your day Jim. Man, i have shirts older then 28. Thanks for all your work to make this the best jazz hingout on the planet. Bill
  14. Atlantic did have 10"ers. I know of a Bechet, a Wilbur DeParis and a Jimmy Yancy. I think the highest number ive seen is 143, so there must have been at least 43 of them. As to where to find a list, i dont have a clue.
  15. Hey Ghost, what versions are you going to use? The Lonehill set is rough in spots. Theirs is done from records and some of them are not in the greatest shape. The Amram has a spot that is just horrible.
  16. Thanks Chuck, i guess im not ready for the Home just yet.
  17. Im think it was a rehearsal. I kind of remember a track where you hear Gerald say "reeds, take it from letter B",or something to that effect. Then you hear the reed section alone playing down that section. I think he may have stopped them, explained something and they go again. Remember now, these are forty some years ago memories. For the guys with the discos,is there any mention of a Gerald Wilson EP?
  18. PJ had all kinds of crazy stuff out back then. I dont have it anymore, but i had what i remember was an EP of the Gerald Wilson band rehearsing tunes from either the Moment Of Truth or Portraits date. I dont remember now if there was a complete song on the EP or not. I wish i still had that.
  19. Jim, It seems to be working for me now, so you can ignore the email i sent earlier today. Bill
  20. I have the Remarkable lp. There is Sad March, but no Blues March. I also looked at the compulations i have, which sometimes have unissued tunes and i find no Blues March. Label errors on PJ product was pretty common.
  21. Brad, If you would like a copy of the liner notes, send me your snail mail and i will be happy to pop them out to you. I only have a B&W front cover, but will be glad to send that also.
  22. The last couple of days been playing the eight Clef Oscar Peterson Plays Gershwin, Porter, Ellington etc that i own. These are the guitar trio recordings with Kessel and Ellis along with Ray Brown from the 50's. Although not any of my Clefs could be accused of being anywhere near mint, the music is great. As you probably know they redid all the songbooks in the 60's with Thigpin on drums, but the redos sound like OP was just going through the motions next to the Clefs. Maybe its because they rerecorded all ten songbooks in two days or something like that. I just need to find the Clef Jerome Kern and Richard Rodgers and i will be a happy man.
  23. Im pretty sure the Land album was produced for BN, but not by Alfred. I think it was a contract job with Feather. I think the Burrell Freedom album was issued in Japan around the time it was recorded. It has never been out in the US.
