  1. It’s very, very good indeed. I love the fact that the first part of the concert represents the more mellow and meditative Alice and the second part the wild, free and intense part of her character. I really hope they will do the Berkeley set as well!
  2. Any Braxton completists here?
  3. 10… out of 39 musicians I actually know. Must say that, after looking up the names, I had 5 ‘damn how could I’ve missed him’ moments. I didn’t recognize Mingus 😵 conclusion: I suck in recognizing my jazz heroes
  4. the group I saw live in Amsterdam. Fond memories 🥰
  5. Allright thanks! The text on their website gives the feeling they could finish the series any moment now but there's plenty to release then. Their weird release schedule might offend the more neurotic buyer 😅Not in a hurry here but I was just wondering... Looking forward recieving all that music.
  6. I really lost track of these now. I ordered and wanted them to ship them all at once. How many volumes are there yet to come now?
  7. Great! Unfortunately he has no plans to visit NL would like to see this trio
  8. amazing record. Sound quality is very good. There are some issues with it in track B but sounds like a tape issue. Great decision to release this concert.
  9. not a big Jarrett fan but this was one I could appreciate. But listening to it now it annoys me as well. I put it off after 20 minutes. Probably blasphemy to some folks but it just doesn’t work out between Jarret and me. This one I do like.
  10. Nah I’d rather make myself useful riding the trolley of death trough town
  11. Oh dear I can’t believe I am reading this just now. That sad news. I loved his enthusiasm and the thumbs up he gave when I spun a certain record he liked. He will be missed. From the photos he looks like a very friendly guy. May he rest in peace
  12. The Renaissance was the start of the decline. I wish I was born during the middle ages
  13. Okay thanks guys. Really like what I am hearing and bad sound isn’t a show stopper for me but like to hear it in the best way possible at least. Khan Jamal is also on fire in this one
  14. Listening to this one now trough Spotify and I am fascinated by it. Sound is pretty bad. Does anyone know if the 2008 cd reissue was an improvement over the original LP? For those unfamiliar with it: it’s with Jerome Cooper, Khan Jamal and some lesser know but excellent musicians:
  15. Looking at the compositions I might pass but will definitely give it a chance. We'll see.
  16. Hopefully you’ll be able to pick up an affordable copy. It would make a beautiful candidate for the Craft Contemporary 70th anniversary series but I thinks it’s probably too far ‘out’ for that.
  17. Sonny Simmons: Burning Spirits. What a great record and what a great band: Barbara Donald, Michael White, Lonnie Liston Smith, Cecil McBee, Richard Davis and Clifford Jarvis.
  18. the new Craft reissue. It sounds amazing and the packaging is very, very solid.
