  1. I have all the patience in the world but it might be good for the guys at Nimbus to remain silent until they could actually ship them 😁
  2. Great line up, great compositional choices. Looking forward to it. Hope the sonics will be better than on the bootlegged one.
  3. It is. Love the compositions they picked.
  4. Marion Brown playing with Stanley Cowell, Sirone and Rashied Ali…
  5. Nice. Definitely interested and glad I did not go for the bootleg. I never but bootlegs and hardly own an unauthorized release but must admit I fell for the Alice Coltrane Berkeley Community Theatre release and ordere a copy from fnac.fr. I have a feeling they are not going to deliver as planned shipping time is somewhere in april... and it's not in print. Its an amazing record that deserves an official release.
  6. Seems a reissue is on its way https://www.dustygroove.com/item/170542/Khan-Jamal:Give-The-Vibes-Some?cat=jazz&incl_cs=1&no_incl_in=1&sort_order=release_date
  7. Damn you were first. I would love to see this. It’s among my favorite Blue Note ever
  8. Oh yes that’s definitely part why it’s such a great album
  9. Spun it so many times but keep enjoying it so much every time I do. Can’t wait for the 10 cds to arrive at my doorstep
  10. Can't think of one more but must say that you're very right about the magic between these two. Very much looking forward to the Happenings reissue on the Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series.
  11. the European bootleg…. A reissue of this one would be lovely 🥰
  12. this could be very well my favorite ‘modern’ jazz album Wacław Zimpel clarinet, alto clarinet, harmonium Paweł Postaremczak tenor saxophone, sopranino saxophone, harmonium Ksawery Wójciński bass Paweł Szpura drums Maciej Cierliński hurdy-gurdy Raphael Rogiński guitar Hamid Drake drums, frame drum, vocal
  13. Thanks. Will definitely give it a try. Listening to more Mompou and like it very much. I’ll keep spinning them. Sometimes it takes a moment to click
  14. Thanks again. Listened to Scriabin, Ligeti, Mompou. I like it. Still not really what I am looking for. Maybe Philip Glass is the best reference. Already added some John Cage for that reason thanks Jim. Also some Steve Reich and Terry Riley. No idea what to expect but just used some internet tips. I already know Pärt but still have to find that solo piano stuff. Thanks for that. Why would people state it’s wrong to like an artist? That’s silly. Than the ECM: I know some of that. Both Bollani and Tsabrapoulos are not really my kind of thing. I sold the cds I had. The Messiaen is one yet to explore so thanks Mark will ad that to my Spotify list. I realize I am a demanding person, sorry for that
  15. It’s worth a try but in the imo one should drink it as one like it best I have got quite a few but I am unable to keep up my glasses with all of the different brands I like if o haven’t got it I take one that has the same shape that’s what it’s all about of course
  16. That’s how it should be poured Mark check out google images and the Duvel website. The foam has much taste itself and the combination of a little of that with some of the beer is very nice. And it’s actually gone pretty soon….
  17. The final combo for this day. Will leave coming Thursday for a 2 day trip to Ieper, Belgium with our graduating classes. So a Belgian classic beer, a book on WWI plus some Wayne Shorter in the background. What a horrible war that was. Hope it will make my students realize they grow up in a pretty good time.
  18. Thanks guys! Added in Spotify
  19. With classical music I tend to like solo piano stuff most. I love Chopin, enjoy Debussy and of course Erik Satie. Not very strange as he was an inspirator for Mal Waldron. Also into Philip Glass. So I am looking more for this kind of music. I would describe it as dark, moody, melancholic and with deep emotioneel feel. Also a bit minimalistic. My wife calls it depressing but she has no taste in music (better taste in men of course). I'd say this composition by Satie has it all: Any listening tips to continue the journey and make my wife feel more depressed?
  20. Experienced now. Pretty good from someone only 33 years old. Not sure what I am experienced in though
  21. i still have mixed feelings about Ware. On one hand I dig him and enjoy the music. On the other hand his music seems a little directionless or something like that. After half an hour I find it quite a tiresome listen. Anyone who (dis)agree?
