I stay up waaaay too late. My wife constantly bugs me about it and she's right. I should get my ass to bed. However, when I do have a gig and I have to drive home late at night for an hour or so, I'm not tired. Which is a good thing! This week I've been getting up pretty early, though. And still staying up late. But, I'm sleeping in tomorrow!!!! YAY!

scottb, Clap Yo Hands is a favorite of the tikes, that's for sure! The drummer in the R&B band I play with has a 4 year old and she loves that tune, too! I don't know much about mac software, so I'm going to keep my mouth shut! I still stand by my original assessment that a lower line G4 should run fine, however. The studio we recorded our trio record in has a G4 800Mhz machine running the newest Pro Tools (the HD) with all the plugins you can imagine and he has no problems. For preamps, you can't go wrong with Grace. Of course, they are $$$$$. I have a Presonus M80 that I like a lot, although I've read they've stopped using the Jensen transformers in them and went to a cheaper (and not as good sounding) alternative. Mine has the original Jensen's in it. The True Systems Precision 8 is nice. Sounds real good. The Focusrite Red series is awesome. All I know is that when it comes to preamps, you get what you pay for!

I do think RAM is more important. True, with the lower line Pro Tools you use more processor than you would with a full Pro Tools rig, but an 800MHz machine would do the job nicely. Does Pro Tools even take advantage of dual processors? I think only OS X does as an operating system and then it's up to individual software. Definately check out the MXL mics. And get some good mic preamps. I can't stress enough how important these are.

I've never been thrilled with Rudy's piano sound. I think Farber and/or Jim Anderson do a much better job.

According to my server dude, the only way bandwidth will become a problem is if we start trading MP3s! He said text should not be an issue. The only way we could trade MP3s is if I opened up the limit on the attachments, which I'm not going to do. You can't get much of an MP3 in 100k! And like I said, if people start to abuse it by posting naked chicks or something (not that naked chicks aren't cool, it's just not what this board is about) then I'll disable it. Best way to support this board* in a monetary way: Buy the CD! *no purchase necessary to use this board!

Oo... you're right. I just fixed that. I set the upload size to 100k. That should be big enough for a decent size picture. If people abuse it, however, I'll shut it off. I'll also probably clean it out once in a while.

Wingy is welcome here. But if he purposely attacks another member in a threatening way, he'll get the boot. That doesn't go for fart jokes. His jokes are lame, but they aren't threatening. My only rule here is no threats. Also, keep in mind that there is a "Report this post" link at the bottom of every post. If you see something you think I should consider censoring, use that link. A funny aside, the code for that button in this software is "go tell momma". I found that the other day. Hehe.

You can host images here too. Use the "File Attachments" thingy below where you type your post in. So, Dan, if you want to post an image from AAJ, save that image to your computer first by right clicking and choosing "Save As" (for Windows) and then attach it to your message. As long as it's under 512k, you'll be fine!

We have no language filter here at all. I haven't even looked at that function. We're all big boys and girls. We've heard "dirty" words before. Language filters suck. As Use3D said the other night, "If people are offended by the words fuck, shit, ass, etc. they shouldn't be on the internet."

Seems to work for me. Hm.... so you're using the "IMG" button right? And you paste a URL in there and you get an error? Did you try "Guided Mode"? To the right of the code buttons during a reply?
