  1. these sexy pills work a long time with me..very nice
  2. I have both Sleeves of Desire which I got for not too much of ebay a few years ago and the recent hardback. Both of which were great. I am looking forward to this one as well and will stick in an order no doubt
  3. It is excellent. I love Speigel im Speigel and yes I like the different recordings of the same tune
  4. Never mind all these protest about socialised health care and all that. I am starting a micro blog/twitter thing to get hundreds of thousands of US citizens to protest outside this mans house til it appears on dvd starting right NOW! Shame really though ...we have lost a great deal of beautiful music over the years from the TV..best hang on better to what we got.
  5. Hey maybe they had them both just to really whet the appetite! Would be lovely to see any /all of this.
  6. Yippee....More John Patton!!!! The internet still comes up with goodies...check this out from Peter Fallico's site: John Patton playing with George Braith 1997! http://www.viddler.com/explore/doodlinlounge/videos/9/ He has got some brilliant Hammond footage Apologies if seen before but I was so pleased I did a search ( not easy ) on the forums and thought it deserved a heads up More vids here: http://www.viddler.com/explore/doodlinlounge/
  7. The one that plays over and over for the last few weeks is Horace Silver - Song for my Father
  8. As far as railway is concerned, this must be a typically british obsession. My father worked for the Luxembourg railways, where he was responsible for equipment. Several times per year, he received visits from members of british railway fan clubs, who requested to see specific locomotives which were missing from their collection of pictures. They wanted to take pictures of each individual locomotive, although many of them were identical except for the serial number. If one locomotive was stationed in another part of the country, they would take a 2 hour trip just to get a picture. They weren't interesting in any sightseeing, even railway-related. The only thing that counted was to travel to complete their collection of pictures. I was once an anorak too, in the late 80's, when I discovered jazz mainly through the ECM label, and I wanted to have a discography of all ECM albums. Instead of simply requesting a list from the label, I went thought the jazz section in record shops and wrote down the 1xxx numbers and titles of all ECM albums I could find. With the internet, such obsessions can now be pursued in a much more discrete way ... That is exactly how I found out about ECM and Blue Note releases. I could not get any other info than from records or maybe info from jazz journal ...funny now I look back on it ...nearly got chucked out once of a record shop near Victoria Station in Manchester UK for doing just that...as I wanted to find out how many organists there were on Blue Note...and armed with a pen and pencil I did just that..and then found these other records called prestige...then the owner got a little hissy with me and so I left
  9. Well I have not been doing anything jazz wize at all for years. Have not bought anything since they released some Rare grooves of the Three Sounds last year/maybe the year before In all honesty I have also been not even doing much on here either. I guess I have stuck to my plan to get back to my favourites and start enjoying them all over again. Most of my listening now is of my just about fully ripped Blue Note cd collection ( which I still keep to listen to when I want) via my Mp3 player on constant random play .....it has bought me much more pleasure than I anticipated and has reminded me of why I fell in love with Blue Note records. I have not been looking in sales/checking on ebay or anything as I think for now at least I have what I want. Maybe that will change although my next plan is to start to repeat what I have done with my Blue Notes to all my other jazz and ECM collection...will need more players though! However I have had this before but refound my interest as it was way back when I decided to flog my LPs and found that many of them were now being released in Japan on CD. My overall perspective is that my collection is something I spent time and effort on creating and building and I want to actually listen to it and enjoy it too.
  10. Nah I would stick with Firefox...3.5 is due out later on and organizing my bookmarks has never been easier for me. I have to use internet explorer at work sometimes and it is like having a filing cabinet all over again
  11. dunno ...guess not...a few tracks have come out on the compilation but other eastbound material came on on bgp but nothing for years
  12. Went to see it the other day with the family. Not too impressed if I am honest. Liked the old series.Never seen any of the films. Got a little confused half way through (not hard for me) probably should have paid more attention I guess. The idea of how it all started I liked but then got confused when the old spock appeared and then the new one ...... The questions for me were: What happened to Kirks Mother Who rang him up in the car? Why all the product placement for nokia and budweiser etc..really got on my nerves The whole handing of power over to Kirk after being made first officer etc etc...did not work for me So not too good for me ...understand why trekkies will like it AND spock (nimmoy) should not have been there...kirk should have read the final lines out...Space...the final frontier etc etc Sorry..disapointed
  13. cool...something decent on facebook at last! some of those were tough but finally got 100% on the last one
  14. thanks to all for the kind thoughts 40 it was and is for the next year!
  15. I have to second the recommendation about Blue John. It is one of my favourite foot tapping recordings featuring both BJP and GB also. I got it on LP and then cd ages ago....well worth a spin...in fact I like it almost as much ( if not more) than Along Came John It really is a shame that this never got released as I think it is a stronger record than some of the other BJPs from the period...never mind...too late now:( We can at least enjoy it now
  16. I always use firefox and when I see a link I right click on it and select open in a new tab or a new window ( I only select tab)..I thought that was the same with everyone
  17. 'ang ' ang on....what about getting it sorted...is it ( no disrespect to the orginal poster) dirty inside, does it need a dust down, lube etc...can you get it serviced where you are. NAD are nice machines Might be worth a little investigation perhaps here: http://nadelectronics.com/parts-service or getting your local dealer to replace the lens
  18. 55378008 yeh I remembered!! and in the business news news today 71077345 5378806 0553 learnt this on a 6078 that I found on 376006 gee I miss having a calculator
  19. I got it when it came out on CD as a double with the Blakey as mentioned. It was really good at the time as I was a staunce Messenger freak and had to have this early messengers incarnation. I have not listened to it much recently...maybe I need to. I always remembered Tin tin deo..that was on there if my memory serves me right...it usually don't
  20. I am speaking at the other end of one of these 'blue' blue note periods where I had not enjoyed any of my old old Blue Notes for a long while. More recently I was barely arsed enough to listen to a whole cd...oh my... Then I had a brain wave ...stuck all the Blue Note 1500 and 4000/100/200 series onto my pc and then on an MP3 player ( my internet was down for a while so I had time). Now plugged my Mp3 player into my stereo and play it on random...Andrew Hill then Thad Jones then John Coltrane then Three Sounds and any of them not just my favourites....you would be surprised at how many tracks at the end of a cd you forget about
  21. Yup I give this a blast every now and again as it has Ike in a more balanced setting for me than on the organ sides.
  22. I have to say that this lp has never ever failed to disappoint me...shame really as I spent years trying to get it and finally scored a Japanese cd . Never made my foot tap , not even once...dunno why either
  23. I am eternally grateful thanks for that matey
  24. I used to keep em and when I sold my records you bet people made a big fuss about whether they had them or not so I sent them out with the record ( I used to keep them somewhere else though and once sent the wrong one ...ummm!...I really felt a doughnut then)
