  1. I've always thought of them as a set.

  3. I heard it on NPR's First Listen before it came out. I dug it...I don't own it yet, but I'd listen to it again.
  4. hell yeah! Happy Birthday Wayne Shorter!
  5. I'm still diggin the album, lotta music there.
  6. also from the Iverson interview: "Some of his songs are the best of the batch of good post-bebop writing. I found a mistake in “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat” and corrected it. He was dead by then. It was a little turnaround thing that wasn’t quite working, and I got it to work. At that point, if a guy was dead and needed anything to be done, I was the person to do it."
  7. "EI: Of course, some of these people are legends that are on this record, but some of them are not so famous. I think they are all English, like this person Elton Dean. CB: They were bad boys of questionable character. Elton Dean wasn’t very nice. I always made jokes about him. After he played one of his long, squeaky solos, I made the band go, “Ta da!” Like, gimme a break."
  8. I couldn't go. I heard it was great! I also heard the recording of the performance is not being released. 9. Gibson was never acquired by Fender. Epiphone has been their low cost import instruments for years. Not bad instruments actually. Gibson sells increasingly expensive guitars with bad quality control.

    Cecil Taylor RIP

Ah, crap...who's over 70 and still around? I'd been expecting Cecil to be on his way for awhile. Photos showed an old man...:(
  11. AAJ: Miles Davis: Miles Davis & John Coltrane - The Final Tour: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 6 .
  12. Can't watch it in the states. As it keeps showing up on YoTube, it gets blocked. I blame the bossa nova, then the Illuminati.

    Anthony Braxton

I hear ya. But it isn't just the money. I moved 15 months ago and don't have the room either. Most of my CDs are boxed up and stored in a spare room.

    Anthony Braxton

My buying has totally slowed to a crawl since the old days!

I'd love to own this, but don't think I will. I thought Charlie Parker Project 1993 was a blast! .
  16. Excellent price. I got these as they came out and then bought the early ones on CD as they came out. I'm curious about any remastering. Allan was the master, no other like him. Much imitated, an influence on many...still a devastating loss.
  17. Of course. The last Kenny Wheeler was already recorded when he passed.
