    Rod Poole

My old web site is gone as a result of economics, so I uploaded the Rod Poole Memorial to my blog. I think it's good to keep his story alive, I hope to add more in the future. https://harmonicsdb.wordpress.com/category/rod-poole-1962-2007/

  6. The KLF - Chill Out I'd heard about this one back in the day...late '90s, but never heard it until today! WIKI
  7. Pete Namlook & Tetsu Inoue - Shades Of Orion I-III Techo/ambient was my idea of light pop music in the '90s, rock really let me down after 'the early 80s.. Namlook died a few years ago, Tetsu is missing, presumed dead.
  8. Those names seem familiar from the '90s.
  9. Martin Roscoe, Carl Nielsen - Nielsen Complete Piano Music
  10. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, I'm listening to the Dean Texan. It's fantastic.
  11. I'll catch up with The Dead Texan later...crazy name for a band.
  12. Kazuhito Yamashita Plays J.S.Bach - CD 2/5 classical gtr
  13. The only SotL related band I've heard was Winged Victory for the Sullen, and only the 1st album.
  14. Misconceptions on Partch Paul Simon's new album includes unique sessions from Montclair Sate "Whether blending Western sounds with South African styles on 1986's "Graceland," Brazilian sounds on 1990's "The Rhythm of the Saints," he has always looked for new sounds and textures to broaden his music. Paul Simon's new album, 'Stranger to Stranger,' explores the unique sounds of Harry Partch's instruments. So it should come as no surprise that he used the unusual musical scales and instruments of Harry Partch on his new album "Stranger to Stranger," which is being released tomorrow, June 3."
  15. Stars Of The Lid is a big favorite here.
  16. I never thought too much of Moby's thing, but this is really quite good for Moby. He's no Eno, but few are. Moby gives away four hours of ambient music designed for sleeping or meditation and two about Robert Rich: You’re Supposed To Fall Asleep At This 8-Hour Concert Please don’t snore. Interview with Electronic Musician, Robert Rich

It was premiered by Yehudi Menuhin, to whom it was dedicated, in New York on 26 November 1944. In 2015, after many thoughts, – sketches and considerations, I finished the guitar arrangement. I can only hope that people will recognize my attempt of the arrangement were done with respect for the composer and the unique Music."
  18. I use a Kyser capo when I need one. More of a clamp. http://www.kysermusical.com/store/electric-guitars/ Handy for checking intonation quickly or, as I found out lately, nice to use in the middle of the neck and limit the guitar to more of a mandolin range. .
  19. I was listening to Steve Hillage by then. I thought he was the next Hendrix. I still love those first solo albums by him.
  20. I guess this was the year I saw Yes & Peter Frampton in Philly at JFK Stadium. Led Zeppelin released Presence, but ELP & Yes were between albums. I was just starting to discover ECM albums, maybe I'd heard Frank Zappa, Bitches Brew and A Love Supreme by then. I can't think of anything else musically significant that happened that year. I was 16. A girl across the street and I lost our virginity together. I went back to public school again that fall, after a few years at a private school.
  21. Too bad. He's still great, but his music gets progressively less interesting despite the high level of musicianship. True.
