  1. Bjork North Mississippi Allstars The Word Can't think of anyone else... non-rock: I do like a lot of beatless Ambient from the mid-late'90s like the FAX label and Bill Laswell...
  2. I very much doubt that Rob/Neon did any such thing. Late last night, after I read here that Musicboy was back to being a board-mod, I sent Neon a PM via his board, politely (and sincerely) asking about Musicboy's reinstatement. I haven't gotten a PM back from him, but I presume that my message to him prompted his reply in the last few hours, on our board (via this thread). I didn't think of that.
  3. Hmm...I noticed that musikboy became an admistrator (not a moderator) over the weekend, but didn't bother to make the effort to post the news here. As soon as someone did post about it, BOOM - here's Neon to explain it. It's almost like he did it to see our reaction. Interesting...write letters to NJ's management.
  4. Coltrane, Live In Japan. A very important album around here, these days. Peace On Earth.
  5. I'm watching it right now. They did an amazing job of synching it.
  6. It's a hard call, but I always vote for Physical Graffiti. jeez...the dvd is really good.
  7. Yeah, they still do it for me too. Still get goose bumps everytime I hear the guitar solo to "Jesus Just Left Chicago". Wicked, just wicked! Incidentally, I believe ZZ Top is touring with Ted Nugent and Kenny Wayne Sheppard this summer. You never know who might show up at a ZZ Top show. Jeff Beck has been known to come out of his garage long enough to play a show or two with ZZ Top. One can only hope. Yes indeed...ZZ Top has a new album, Mescalero, but it's on hold. RCA's Clive Davis wants to "Supernatural" it with guests. You can find Mescalero on Kazaa. As fer the Zep...I listened to the CD set this afternoon and started on the DVD (although I can't watch it now, must work). In My Time of Dying - the hair on my arms are standing up.... I got back into listtening to r'nr a year or two ago, it's great for driving a car to. Faves: Led Zep, ZZ Top, Johnnny Winter, North Mississippi Allstars, Capt. Beefheart (harmolodic rock?), Robin Trower, Hendrix, Jeff Beck and a few other's ah can't think of right now.
  8. The latest by Alan Holdsworth is called All Night Wrong. It was recorded live in Japan.
  9. 7/4 is a ratio that represents the 7th harmonic in the harmonic series.
  10. alt.guitar.amps is a good place to search for information on build a tube amp. Also check alt.guitar.amps here: http://groups.google.com/
  11. Yet another reason to take them to court!
  12. Musikboy must be estatic. His name in print! He's an insider in the music business! np: Peace on Earth - Prima Materia
  13. Have you ever hear Carlos w/Alice Coltrane, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette and others on Illuminations? Bill Laswell did some remixing resulting in the disc Devine Light. 7/6
  14. I went with Metheny. I probably would have voted for Jim Raney if her was on the list. 8/7
  15. United Artists actually. My copy is on Blue Note, CDP 7 46393. Money Jungle on Blue Note here. 63/32 See the fine print on the back, or at least on the back of my "CDP 7 46398 2" released on CD circa 1987. It says... "Originally issued on United Artists UAS 15017, UAS 5632 and Solid State SS 18022". It was originally produced by Alan Douglas (a dead give-away), and also that it was recorded at Sound Makers, NYC. I didn't even see that on my CD. Getting old...need new glasses.... 9/8
  16. Thanks! I've been listening this a lot this year. Very intense. 8/7

  18. I feel that way a little myself, but you just never know. I've been on the norahjones.info site trying to learn a little about mischiefboy, and now it's quite clear that he's small potatoes. He was talking a good game for a minute, catching me off guard. Or putting me on guard as it were. I had just never seen anyone behaving quite like that. As Use3D said, welcome to the internet! Well... he was a moderator. Back around the end of March, begining of April, there was a "war" forum set up at the Norah Jones board. Musicboy didn't know his history and made an ass of himself, then he started editing my posts. When I called him on it, he banned me for a couple of weeks. But anybody who goes on about being MR. MUSIC INDUSTRY, probably isn't. 49/32
  19. No shit!!! I guess he isn't going to be speaking to NJ's mangement a few days a week anymore! [thanks Neon!]
  20. here. He's another "moderator" at the NJ board.
  21. Whatta great album. I should dig it out and listen to it again soon. I've been cutting back on my buying and checking out my collection. Way too many years of buying and buying and buying.....it did get quite a few spins when I first purchased it.
  22. He lies too. He said he didn't have time for us and he's still here, beating a dead horse.
  23. Yeah.....sure! That's why there was suddenly a "Policy (rev.5-14-03)" revision and an entire forum was deleted. What ever....
  24. Biggot? There's good Christians and bad ones. Evil are those who feel they have to censor the internet as if they're "liberating" Iraq.
  25. What??? You expect them to be honest???
