  1. "So he was trying to get out?" "Isn't everybody?" "GET OUT in times of declared emergency." Porgie: "What emergency?"
  2. I must confess, I was "inspired" last night and played 'Dwarf' straight though. It will never get old. I suppose, after high school, I did find a bunch of guys who dressed alike and follow them around. .I should have taken off my shoes....for industry.
  3. Shipping to US Also will ship to Canada however Canada shipments pay actual shipping, which is pricey. First three discs are $3 USPS media mail additional discs $.50 each Media Mail shipping Free shipping on any order $60 or more. Free shipping plus 10% off total on any order over $125. Payment is via PayPal. If interested, please respond in thread and then PM. Thank you. Rating all discs EXC to NM-. No lines or scuffs on any. A little haze that will polish off, most likely from the sleeves. Unless otherwise noted, all Cds are house in clear plastic sleeves with inserts intact. The jewel case line usually but not always is folded in half to fit in the sleeve, so it will have a crease, not that noticeable, but mentioning it so no one is surprised. Thanks for looking.
  4. I think it was packaged with a two-bit ring in a crackerback jox. But, seriously, dear friends, I don't recall reissues on vinyl as a package of any sort. Well, its off to the funway
  5. I have been selling CDs for about two years now, helping FreeJazz (Scott) 'move the rock', as his wife says. Occassionally the market is good for more obscure titles and labels. Not so much for the more common titles. And with the virus putting a damper on life as we know it, its hard to tell business is slow (but steady) due to people being frugal or the market always like this and is not going to get better. I hope its the latter. If you contact Dusty Groove, I would expect them to offer you about $1 a disc. Maybe more for rare valuable titles, but they have to pay people to organize, research and list the discs as well as process the orders. Those folks hopefully don't work as cheap as me!!!! Good luck! Mike

  10. Well, we are planning on attending an outdoor wedding and possibly the reception, to be held in a build with open windows and fans running. We'll see how it plays out. The family wanted to go ahead rather than postpone the wedding and I don't expect to see many mask wearers there. About half the invitees have cancelled and the tables are supposed to be 'spread out' for the reception but I am still not sure how the owner of the venue is skirting the rules limiting gathering sizes. But venue owner is saying what they want to hear and has their money so its not hard to figure out, I guess. So we and our friends might be passing on the reception.
  11. Talked with a neighbor this morning and she told me that her sister was in an auto accident a few days ago and apparently contracted Covid while in the hosptial ER. The neighbor inferred that the hospital was at fault for not putting a mask on her sister while she was in the ER and that her sister likely was infected by the visitors who were in the area near her. Interestingly, I spoke with her husband, who is a DJ, last weekend and he downplayed the whole Covid thing. He explained that at an outdoor wedding he was DJing, a couple guests from Florida told him that things aren't bad down in Florida because 'it's just the flu." So it goes......
  12. Interesting story and one we'll see more of this sort of thing as more well-to-do boomers execute their estate plans. From the article, I gather that he's actually planning to keep it for a while since it mentions there is not timetable yet. I suspect they will spread it out over several years and spread the tax deduction as well. Most folks I know that are collectors tell me that they are "leaving for their kids", which I hear as "I don't want to sell it." But that's just me. As for my collections of records, audio gear and vintage barbell/dumbbells (yes, people collect 'vintage iron', as they call it), I am slowly selling off pieces and saving anyone surviving me that work.
  13. Yeah, but wait until he faces the final curtain!!! I was in WalMart for a bit yesterday and lots of mask-free people. And many I saw also must not have been able to read, going the wrong way down the one-way aisles.
  14. No dancing in the street in Monroevlile yesterday, though it was hot enough to fry and egg on the road. https://triblive.com/local/monroeville/monroeville-black-lives-matter-protest-takes-demonstration-onto-route-22/ I'm the skinny white guy in the white hat in a couple of the clips. 15. Hello Pim,

Not sure you would be interested but as you probably noticed my posting of CDs for sale,  I am helping a friend sell off a massive collection.  Right now I am focusing on major label and artists.  I have lots of rare European stuff and honestly there is too much for me too randomly go through.  I usually am selling in the State due to the expense to ship overseas but if you are buying from Japan you are probably used to the shipping  charges.  If you want to send me a wish list,  I would be gald to look here and we can work on the prices.   Right now, I have jazz artists for letters A to D and M thru P.  Also have several hundred titles that he pulled as 'premium' titles. Many artists whose names I know and many, many more I've never heard of.

thanks and hope things are good in the lowlands!  we were there for a tulips and windmills river cruise (Antwerp to Amsterdam) last spring and hope to get back someday.  Picked up some vinyl while I was there too!!

    Be well

    Mike

  18. If it's not too crass to post this here, send me a wish list. I have about 25000 discs to sell. ( I might have to hire a staff to manage this soon) thanks
  19. I checked one of the "B" boxes from FreeJazz and six Beldens but not that one.
  20. Spinning Duke Ellington "At His Very Best" RCA Victor LP1715 I need to install that mono cartridge I bought a couple weeks back..
  21. Earlier, it was 'Soul Bag' by Mongo Santamaria, then Sonny Boy Williamson "King Biscuit Time" on Arhoolie. Now I guess I am going to put on "Sophisticated Giant" next. Picked up a nice copy for a couple bucks recently at an estate sale. Ten boxes of vinyl and about 20 vinyl buyers and I was sixth in line so had to decide which one to go from the ones unoccuppied. The one I picked had the Dexter, a Monk, In a Silent Way, a couple of Gil Scott-Heron's and a Nathan Davis lp, "If." Also got a couple nice Bill Wither lps. I think I picked the right box.
  22. Currently spinning side one of "Spring" by Anthony Williams. Picked up this stereo copy last Friday at an amazing estate sale at a loft in downtown Pittsburgh. There were over 2000 LPs individually priced for sale. I'll start a thread elsewhere shortly.
  23. Going through a pile of LPS I purchased at an estate sale probably last spring, Lots of Duke Ellington, Ella and Satchmo were in the pile I got to first that day but probably listened to just some of the Duke stuff since then Decided to correct that today so its Louis and Ella the rest of the day. Currently spinning side two of a mono 6 eye of Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five Vol 1
