  1. "Nouvelle Cuisine" - Jean Vanasse-vibraphone; Miroslav Vitous-bass (Justin Time)
  2. Nice one. One of my favorite albums by Maupin. One of my favorites period. This afternoon I listened to "The Ritual" - Kahil El' Zabar with Lester Bowie and Malichi Favors.
  3. Thanks for the post, Adam. I have been hoping they would re-issue the Clusone CD soon.
  4. I haven't listened to this in a long time and I don't know why. I've been using my turntable alot lately and really enjoying it.
  5. I was a loyal longtime subscriber as well but I let my subscription lapse after the first issue of this year. I have been vacilating ever since about renewing again. The price increase didn't bother me so much but I kind of liked getting the darn little thing every month. Also there are fewer interviews and I felt fewer new reviews if you look at it on a yearly basis.
  6. The Clean Feed label has really put out alot of interesting looking stuff in the last several month. I also enjoy the Freejazz site but I have to stop going there. My budget is limited I can't afford the temptations.
  7. I don't mean this to sound like "piling on" but I'm waiting for a Walt Dickerson also. Just so you know it's not just you.
  8. Any thoughts on release dates for those Hats?
  9. Thanks for the heads up. I live in Omaha which is about 2 1/2 hour drive. Very do able.
  10. I'm sorry that I didn't participate in your BFT. You had tracks from a couple of my favorite albums (Tryptich Myth, Joost Buis). Since we apparently have similar taste on some things I will have to check out the other stuff you listed. Thanks.
  11. Please pardon my lack of knowledge, but what is STN?
  12. I guess I don’t have much to say except what appeals to me and what doesn’t. I most enjoyed the following tracks: 4. I haven’t heard anything new from Egberto Gismonti for a long time but this sounded like him to me. Whoever it is sure can play. 5. This sounded better ever time I played it. At first I thought it was something from the 1960s. 9. Both the ensemble playing and solos sounded pretty good to me. 11. This one and 9 are the ones I am most interested in finding out who done it. It seems like it is being played with good humor. The rest of the tracks were ok, just nothing that made me think, I’ve got to find out who that is. I have to admit that I thought track 1 was a little silly and the solo violin track did kind of grate on my last nerve. Thanks again for including me Nate. My virgin BFT was great fun.
  13. Apparently mail to Nebraska isn't so bad because I got the disk today. Thanks for including me.
  14. I sent you a reply. Thanks very much.
  15. I have been looking for the CD "Aki Takase Plays Fats Waller"(ENJA). I've seen it for $35 but that seems kind of expensive. Maybe it isn't and I'm just tight. Anyway, thanks for any help or thoughts.
  16. I bought the Carnet de Routes CD because of this discussion and I wanted to thank you all for the recommendations. Everything said is true. This is one of the best records I have heard in a long time.

In my experience, Vladimir is knowledgeable, accessable, and honest. I have done business with him going on maybe 20 years and have no complaints.
  18. Hi Slide, I have a Horo release by Karl Berger. I haven't listened to it in years. If you are interested in KB send me a PM. Nick
  19. I'm really not sure what this thread is about and I don't think I want to live in Des Moines, IA either but I did go to a Trio X concert there a couple of weeks ago.
