  7. Yes, thanks for your efforts.
  8. Sadly, living in Nebraska, I don't get to join this conversation often. I got to see the Wayne Shorter Quartet tonight. Yeah!
  9. I've had some good music days this week and got to listen to your first 21 tracks one time through, several times for some tracks. Some really interesting stuff and some strong bass playing. I got by my natural impulse to check out the Ids by simply taking off my bifocals. All a blur to these old eyes. For me track 3 was an incredibly beautiful piece of music. Don't know how the bass made all those sounds. I listen on an mp3 player but this one needs to be heard with greater fidelity. I am pretty sure that I will cheat and see who it is before months end. Got to know. I think I know the vibes guy on track 11, probably my favorite of the “younger” guys. If not, someone else I need to know about. The last track is another beautiful piece. Nice ending. Not much for comments but I will be away from the computer most of the month and I wanted to make sure I acknowledged your efforts. I will have my mp3 player with me, so I will be listening to all your BFT material some more. Thanks for the traveling music.
  10. I would love to hear your BFT. However,my month is setting up such that I will probably not get back to the comment part. If that is ok, may I get a download. Thanks.

  12. "Springtime for Hitler", that is too good. : 0 ) I am really sorry that I didn't get back to the discussion (time goes by too fast) but I did listen to the BFT quite a bit. Some really good piano. Mike Wofford and Walter Davis are now on my find out more about these guys list. So here is how old I am. When I was a young one, the guy across the street had a little television shop in his front room. My dad took me over to check it out and the first TV show I ever saw was Howdy Doody in all it's black and white glory. I am surprised I can still pull that out of my poor age addled memory. I have had Braam's "Howdy" on my list but I now see that Jazz Loft no longer has it. Where did you get that one? If I haven't said it, that very much for the great listen.
  13. I would like to sell The Complete 1959 CBS Charles Mingus Sessions (Mosaic MQ4-143), 4LPS. 0650 of 1500. M- condition. Maybe $140 plus shipping? Thanks for your consideration.
  14. Ahh, I figured you'd come closer to this one than anybody. Braam it is. (Newish to me, I've had it only a couple of months ago.) I've been kind of going through my Michiel Braam stuff and I don't think I have this track. I got a new (to me anyway) MB toward the end of November also. It is a 2CD album called "Growing Pains". One of the best pieces of music I own. Again, I don't think your track is on it but there is alot of music to absorb. If I'm wrong, big egg on my face.
  15. I am a sucker for the piano trio and track 1 is a good one. The style, going in and out of the melody works for me. I want to hear more about this piano player. Track 3 isn't my usual listening but I could see going out to have a couple of beer and hearing these guys. Maybe after some Kansas City BBQ. The trumpet player has a style. Track 4 reminds me of the Matsabumi Kikuchi Trio with Paul Motian, except I don't hear his vocalizations. So, here is another one I want to find more about. I love the sparseness of the playing. Beautiful.
  16. Nice stuff all around. I wasn't going to comment right away but track 13 reached out and grabbed me. You probably know me enough that it isn't a suprise that this is my kind of music. I love the piano playing. While it sounds familiar, I can't really place it. Of coarse, the high jinx and musicianship make me think of some of the Dutch groups. Maybe Michiel Braam. Actually, I hope this is a group I've never heard of because finding out about it will be even more fun. I will be listening to this track alot. If you want to do a reveal on this one right away, feel free. : 0 )
  17. So, I'm listening to track #7 and actually thinking that I might have heard this tune. It is time to go to bed.
  18. Listened to #2 again. I always thought I might be able to pick out Al Francis. He does have a style and as you pointed out there are only a couple of examples to draw from. Well, again I was wrong. I have this album as well, which I'm going to pull out tomorrow.
  19. Wow - this is extremely kind, thank you...I'm really flattered you enjoy them!!! I've been listening to Song Singular, which I got from Mr. Hawkins. Our friend can play the piano.
  20. How did I miss Flip Philipp. : 0 ) There is always something new, which is why these things are so much fun. Thanks very much for some really good music.
  21. It's the vibe, so I feel compelled to make a couple of wild guesses. Track 1 - an exuberance that makes me think of Terry Gibbs. Track 5 - playing reminds me of Joe Locke. Track 6 - Teddy Charles. Still really liking the vibes/bass track, which is a combination I really like. I have several albums with this combination and will probably have another soon.
  22. I was going to take a BFT break but I'm pretty sure you will have some interesting stuff....so may I have a download please?
