I just found this cd and boy was it smokin'! Have I been asleep at the switch? Who is this guy? Where did he come from and where is he now? Has he done anything else as good as this? Chops like Dizzy & high notes like Maynard F. (maybe higher?). WOW! Comments?

so i bid and won on ebay a used blossom dearie cd called"give him the ooh-la-la. when it came in the mail it had a little sticker sealing it that said "used." imagine my surprise and joy when i opened the cd and found inscribed in black sharpie on the liner notes blossom's autograph! anybody else have an unexpected experience like this?

I have a very large cd collection which i love to organize and reorganize. recently i pulled out of my "rock/pop" cd's donald fagan's the nightfly. after listening to it again i could not put it back into "rock/pop". the question looms, where to file it? is it jazz?. . . . .

This was a good excuse to listen to the entire album again! For me it was Blue Train, hands down! Now what album is next?!

What about Phineas Newborn, Jr., George Russell or Art Tatum? Nobody's even mentioned them!!! And what about . . . Brubeck?!! B)
