  1. Yep contrary to last year when I attended a 21st century low 11 gigs , I should be attending more than 20 concerts this year, quite excited if you add the Suoni who'll bring acts like PAAL NILSSEN-LOVE'S LARGE UNIT and Matana Robert, it should be a fine summer.
  2. You are used to read me whine and bitch about what they offer us, well suprise not this year, Of they are still WTF acts that are part of the thing like Huey Lewis and the News or Steve Miller Band but overall for overall music fans and jazz there is plenty to dig. 3. Meanwhile in the North American competition of the same name we played America in front of more 105 000 spectators and we managed a 1-1 draw in their house, second leg in Montreal next wednesday for all the marbles. It will be rocking !!!!
  4. The Goldfiinch Enjoyable page turner, well crafted, writing wise.
  5. Vaughn Williams Collector 's edition can be found on Amazon Italia for 5 Euros , there is also a seller on Amazon Canada who offers it for around 20 $, which in my case is cheaper (thanks to the ridiculous international shipping fees )
  6. Thanks for the tip, just received it, didn't expect such a massive box though, had to cancel my other errands to bring back this mofo at home.
  7. Eventful semi-finals in Champions league while my Montreal Impact survived an onslaught, being pelted by garbage , money, racist insults and even a shoe to hold on and qualify nonetheless thanks to an away goal rule while losing the second leg 4-2 to Alajuelense . Costa-Rica saw it's last chance to see a team qualify for the finals dissapear as Herediano coming with a 3-0 lead in Azteca Stadium allowed two goals in the 8 first minutes, it was 5-0 for America and Heredia was reduced to 10 and it was all over for El Team. So the final will take place in both famous stadiums, our costly Olympic Stadium and the even more mythical Azteca.
  8. French Classico was a whole lot of fun, C. Ronaldo scored 5 goals in a 9-1 demolition of Grenada, he has more goalsby himself than 14 whole teams of the same championship --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MLS news, we have a new sheriff in town as the Whitecaps have taken the top spot thanks to a magnificen performance against the Galaxy, Dallas bite th dust in Portland , Javier Morales showed his stuff for Salt Lake to help them handle San Jose. Homeless Toronto lost for the third time in a row. Orlando lost again in the last moment of a game, the hangman was Luis Silva. In the less honorable department Colorado has yet to score a goal. A lot of action this week, first Montreal will try to earn a final berth as they'll try to hold on to a 2-0 lead in Alajuela against the Costarican side. Another early matchup takes place wednesday night as league leaders Vancouver welcomes Columbus . Friday night action will hum feature the hum goalless Rapids as they visit Dallas who will try to bounce back from their first lost. Early saturday action will feature the Revs welcoming a busy Columbus side , game of the evening is rivals DC and Red Bulls who faced up again with the top spot in the East in the balance . Sunday top game will see two darlings of the league face up as LA and Seattle meet in Seattle.
  9. Pretty tough to make any meaning of week 4 in MLS as teams fielded what reminded me lineups from Grapefruit league action. I'll settle to say that the big winners were KC and the Energy drinks from New York who got an away win out of it . Wild ending in Salt Lake against Toronto which saw the Real earn their first win of the season. Dallas is no longer perfect but remains undefeated. Vancouver got another late goal win thanks to newcomer Earnshaw.. Next win should be fun friday night action features offensive minded Orlando receiving defensive minded DC , late saturday night action will showcase intriguing west division showdowns the bigger one will be the hot Whitecaps hosting the Galaxy , Easter action will mainly feature another matchup with two west conference team between San Jose and Salt Lake.
  10. Yep. which already was a watered version of the original format Meanwhile going to the stadium, famous vistors as Kaka sports the colours of our opponents as Orlando visits Montreal
  11. The fact, they made it a field of 24 , makes it almost pointless.
  12. If most fans paid attention to the Classico which saw Barcelona getting away from tiki taka to more straight ahead fast break and counter attack football depending less on possession than usual the most suprising result came from Munich as Bayern suffered a rare home lost to opportunistic Gladbach. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last MLS week was less rambunctious than week 2 , it featured three 0-0 scores in eight games, overall only 10 goals were scored in these games. San Jose opened his new stadium in style winning 2-1 , Orlando lost in a cruel way in the 96th minute as Vancouver's Rivero got a very very very late goal. Montreal lost their Champions League hero Cameron Porter for the reat of the seasonin a nasty injury in one of those eventless 0-0 games. Finally Dallas remains the only perfect team defeating easily the Union in the city of Brotherly love --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All teams will be in action next weekend which is actually a dumb idea as it is an international break which the league does not bother to respect which means all these players won't be available for their teams http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2015/03/21/complete-list-mls-international-callups-march-fifa-dates Best game on paper remains saturday night as league leaders FC Dallas will welcome the Sounders.
  13. Are they going to sell it seperately as well or are they going to sell it all the 36 cds at once ?
  14. Gunners will have a hard time today as the fiight an uphill battle trailing 1-3 against suprising Monaco. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MLS next week the featured friday night game will showcase laders Dallas taking their show on the road against Philly. Saturday night will be an occasion to check out if the expansions team will remain undefeated. They have good chances as they take on takable teams,, the Florida team receives Vancouver and City goes to Colorado which ain't exactly a powerhouse. Marquee matchup this weekend will take place sunday as East rivals DC and Red Bulls will clash.
  15. Wild weekend in MLS , Both expansion teams got their first win ,although it's NY who made the headlines thanks top David Villa making a successful debut in Yankee Stadium having a goal and a decisive pass and being a constant threat. Dallas is now on top of the league thanks to a win against KC who is probably missiong being in the east. Performance of the week belongs to San Jose who despite being one player short for more than 30 minutes managed to get a win in Seattle. Crazy ending in Portland as both teams traded late goals to settle for draw which allows the Galaxy to remain undefeated. The wildest game of the week goes to Salt Lake and Philadelphia which endded up 3-3. Best celebration of a goal belongs Columbus Crew 's Kei Kamara though http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2015/03/15/kei-kamara-knows-his-columbus-crew-sc-history-goal-celebration-homage-sideli
  16. I think he's a fascinating character, I wouldn't mind him coaching my team . Then again as my alias shows, I have a thing for Dutch people Not sure he's a guy you'd get for the long term, has too much of a shock value and I'm not sure his method works in every context but Compared to the Mou, I think he's a saint.
  17. I usually enjoy English commentators but in those occasions (European or international event with an English opponent) they are often chauvinistic to the point of annoyance , as much as I cheer for the Gunners,I had a laugh during the first leg defeat against Monaco I thought their reaction(the commentators) was hilarious as they acted like they were on the verge of breakdown watching to their total dismay Arsenal being badly outplayed.
  18. Considering that the only Thicke I'm familiar with is Alan and my only exposure to his "version" was hearing it on before games at the warmup before soccer games, I have little reasons to dislike the tune, actually I'll be in the minority but I still actually enjoy it (I heard the tune but I never watched the video ) , then again to paraphrase JSngry I don't mind ear candy. Regarding the problem itself, well I'm on the fence, yes I see what they (Gaye's estate) mean but considering how common it has been done before I have a hard time understanding why this one is worse than others to the point of winning a trial (Maybe others haven't tried ?) . Philosophical question to me becomes what's the difference between an hommage and a rip off .
  19. Anybody here following the MLS ? Season started last week, our hated rivals TFC made the bigger splash winning big in Vancouver. It was also the debut of Kaka in Orlando, in what was a very entertaining game he scored with the help of a deflection the tying goal against another new team Ney York City. Seattle destroyed last year's finalist New England. Champions Galaxy started well their season by handling Houston easily to open the MLS season . Subscribing to MLS Live is a heck of a deal, especially for us Canucks as the only games blacked out are the ones broadcasted on national tv in Canada, last week it meant having 9 games out of 10 available live. This week only 8 games, with an even pair of teams there is no reason for byes unless teams have other commitments , then again scheduling makes little sense in this league. This friday Houston will receive Kaka and Orlando but not defender Aurélien Collin who got red carded last week. Saturday's action my pick for game to watch would be Dallas-KC, two teams who will have to battle for a playoff spot in the tough west conference Sunday will feature the first home NY City game in Yankee Stadium , football on a baseball field ugh ! They will receive the Revs who will try to bounce back from the 3-0 drubbing they got last week ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In European action , how satisfying was it to see the arrogant Mourinho and the evil twin brother of Luis Suarez Diego Costa get a suprising exit from Champions League as Paris eliminated them , thanks to an away goal in extra time.
  20. Very fine player indeed, never got the chance to see him live , enjoyed his work especially with the Mingus Big band
  21. Our local team made us live some wild times lately, with a whole new bunch of players, 9 starters out of 11 weren't on the team when 2014 started, playing their first competitive game, we managed in Mexico to get a 2-2 result in Champions League action in the first leg against Pachuca . The second leg was played at home in the Big O , game was tied 0-0 until the 80th when the visitors got themselves a penalty to take the lead , with the away team using all the dirty tricks, time stalling tactics, imaginary cramps this happened... http://www.tvasports.ca/2015/03/03/porter-seme-lhysterie-dans-le-stade Sorry for the ad prior to the viewing
  22. No kidding. Is this an Alberta oil side-effect? Probably, meanwhile it has gone down to levels that we haven't seen since last millenium I think, good thing there is Amazon.ca marketplace . I'll keep it simple , considering the way this boards stands regarding Oscar, if you enjoy Peterson's work you'll enjoy it but it won't bring him out into another light , if you care little about him you're not gonna start liking him more.
  23. Pretty sure Moms/Clem will say to jump on the mofo , Marriner 28 cd set for 45 Pounds. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IERAFUQ/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B00IERAFUQ&linkCode=as2&tag=bonsplansclas-21&linkId=VP5BY22D5VFII6Z7
  24. If it wasn't for the Loonie taking a beating I would be so all over the Jamal
