    Kenton Wagner

Kenton donated his materials to the University of North Texas. You might correspond with them to see if anything is available, but "Kenton Wagner" is one of his most obscure records, and one of only three for Capitol that I know of that has never been reissued on cd (the others, I think, are "Hair" and "Plays for Today," though I may be missing some).
  2. I gave up trying to buy a copy of the Teddy Reig book and got it from the library. It is a fun read! One question: how was/is his last name pronounced? "Reeg" "Rige" "Rague"??
  3. Yes, well, for whatever reason, if she comes back to Portland, I hope she offers some performances here!
  4. Saw The Menu yesterday. Not for every "taste," but I thought it was (darkly) very funny.
  5. I posted in this topic back in May, but I've managed to find both sets since then, and I was listening to disc 5 of the Brown set when I saw this thread had popped up again! They're both fun sets.
  6. I got it in Paris way back in 2002 when the euro was at around 78 cents to the dollar. Bringing it back was definitely a challenge! The JIPs do indeed occupy their own space!
  7. Jeez, I leave for just THREE weeks on a trip.........!
  8. One doesn't hear jazz accordion very often, but Pete Jolly plays a lot of it here.
  9. Between $350 and $500. It's a valuable set.
  10. Just watched the movie for the first time recently. Sonny's playing on the soundtrack was a highlight!
  11. I really liked that one. Viola Davis gives another oscar-worthy performance.
  12. That's very kind. I still remember the first time I heard him. I'd just bought this BYG LP (a French issue of some Savoy stuff). I put it on, and his trumpet just exploded out of the speakers of my old little portable stereo record player. I've been a fan ever since!
  13. My avatar speaks for me. Fats was truly fabulous.
  14. Yeah, that happened while I was in Europe. I came home with way too many new things!
  15. "Wave" is a tough song for any singer. Sinatra also struggled with that low note: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIrNtAq-t8w But he did sing it at a better tempo!
