  1. Knock $100 off if you’re a member. I won’t be buying it but I do wish that liners/additional writings would be sold separately.
  2. Didn’t know that. I was thinking the Count reference was a nod to Basie. Glad to know the actual details. Discogs doesn’t list other recordings of this song unless I’m missing it.
  3. Thanks for all you do. Sorry you’re having to deal with this kind of thing.
  4. Error here as well. Tagging @tkeith
  5. Are we talking ads vs no ads type of tiers or something different? Seems like certain content could be free while others would be paid subs.
  6. IDK but someone needs to edit them together because that would be hilarious
  7. Interesting convo about this re modern remastering choices and preferences vs original intent. This can’t be the only note or song affected.
  8. Very slight correction in that track 4’s album has been ID’d but I don’t think the actual song from that album has been named - unless I missed it. Shouldn’t be too difficult to do anyway.
  9. The first 3 quarters of that game were brutal to watch. Thankfully things picked up in the 4th and OT. Had the Niners won, game ball should have gone to special teamer Chris Conley who absolutely balled out.
  10. The twitter account cited in the blog article as support for the author’s overall point thinks “Israel did 9/11” which should be problematic enough not to use them as any sort of authority. I’m not familiar with that blog but maybe that aligns with the blogger’s sympathies, and maybe not. Always worth checking sources though, especially on the cesspool of culture that is now Twitter/X. Anyway, I see the disclaimer from Max as less PC and more CYA. As we move further away from 70s cinema, new audiences may need more in the way of an introduction to set the stage so to speak.
  11. Per the liner notes from Echoes of Indiana Avenue, for 6 straight years Wes worked at a radio parts factory from 7am-3pm every day, then had a gig from 9-2am, and then a late night gig from 2:30-5am. Appreciate the link for Buck Hill. He's someone I need to learn more about.
  12. Wow. Similar to Wes Montgomery and probably a whole lot of musicians as well.
  13. Agreed. I would love to see them dip into their 30s and 40 sets. Unless I’m mistaken they haven’t touched these decades in these recent reissue series. I think they may be underestimating the market potential for these.
  14. If I didn’t have to work for a living I’d absolutely make an effort to do this. These digital discographies of most jazz legends are a near complete clusterfuck and a lot of clean up is necessary. Good luck to anyone that makes the attempt.
  15. The Birdland 1953 set. It’s 3 CDs but I did digital only. Forgot to mention I also picked up the Sonny Stitt Acid Jazz & Kynard’s Afro-Disiac. Those Prestige sets are pretty cheap and give good reason to comb thru my OJCs and sell em off.
  16. I ended up getting some Sun Ra, Bud Powell, Jaws and Steve Tibbets. I’m new to bandcamp so these were my first purchases.
  17. Yep! That’s got to be the OG album that my Savoy CD copy included with another record. Sleuthed! 🍻
  18. lol his defense withered in crucial games. I’m surprised they went with Quinn but maybe the gig was a hard sell.
  19. Yes! Pepper and Cooper on Savoy. This will be sleuthed soon. Good ears man Nice. Thank you
  20. Washington hires Dallas’ DC Quinn as their new HC. My friends that follow them aren’t thrilled.
