McCoy Tyner, Feb 14, 15, 16 at the Blue Note.
He was here (Grand Rapids, MI) last week... very glad I was able to go.
(I suppose that the Blue Note may not be "off the beaten path"..., but, in case you didn't already know about it...)

Worth the price just to hear "Beatrice".

One for Big Al!

and, for extra credit:

Up.
The full video is available for download.
The Kenny G reminiscences have been edited out, but what's left is still interesting!

Yet two more new releases:
I thought Braxton was done with the GTM stuff, but then I noticed the dates (2003).
Here's another new one, out February 15. It's been mentioned in other threads, but not here yet:
Anthony Braxton & John McDonough - 6 Duos (Wesleyan) 2006 (Nessa)

Glad to see Halvorson's "Saturn Sings" on the list... one of my favorites this year.
-
... and the Nessa juggernaut rolls on ...

Pottersville > Bedford Falls. Discuss.
"We serve hard drinks for men who want to get drunk fast".
What's not to like about that???
I'll bet Nick's serve a wicked Long Island Tea.
No way. That's a total wuss drink.
Nick's was all about Whiskey and Scotch. Neat.
Get with the program, FFA. :P:)

Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington - "The Great Summit".
Both of those guys suck, individually. But, together... WTF!!!

If I remember correctly, those notes are also reprinted in Larry's book.
-
Jameson, neat.

I put my account on 90-day hold, and will end up canceling. I'm done as well.
I might reconsider if they had lossless (FLAC) downloads, but I'm sure that won't happen anytime soon.

Lady Day: the Complete Billie Holiday on Columbia 1933-1944 10 Cd Set Amazon UK $18.70 Shipped to the states
That is a fantastic deal... order placed. Thanks, Mr. Smith!!!

Introvert here.
I'd add more, but I really don't know what else to say! :blush2:

A fictitious Braxton record??!!!
...they probably needed to make one up, as there are so few Braxton records!

The Muhal Richard Abrams Orchestra: Blu Blu Blu (Black Saint)
That is a fantastic record... I have it only as a download from eMusic, but sooner or later I need to find the CD or vinyl.
FYI - Cadence has restocked much of the Black Saint & Soul Note catalog, including most or all of the Muhal titles. And Black Saint may release a Muhal box at some point.
Thanks. I hope I won't regret it, but rather than buying the individual CDs, I'm going to wait for the box set.

My inclination is to bail out, for the reasons mentioned above. Even if I completely ignored all of my eMusic downloads, I still have way too much to listen to on CD and vinyl.
For the occasional thing "I really need, right now", Amazon seems to be a good answer. The recurring charges of eMusic are easy to ignore on the credit card statement, and of course, they know that.

Jon Irabagon: Foxy
Jason Adasiewicz: Sun Rooms
Foxy is wonderful!
With special guest Barry Altschul! :tup

Cool! Order placed!
I wish more artists would include audio CDs when releasing concert DVDs. It's nice to have both.
