  1. Sorry, Tom, but I don't have the money to be debating the merits of who I should be buying my jazz box sets from. If I was buying house insurance, or taking out a mortgage, I would be looking for something other than the best deal. For jazz cds, I'm sorry...if the retailer who is offering the product delivers the item as described to me, I've gotten what I paid for. If Mosaic is unwilling to seek legal action against these sellers, why should I feel any different!!?! It's there responsibility to prevent these outfits from illegally selling their products, not my responsibility to refuse buying them. How do I know their stolen!?!?! Because someone on the board said so!?!?! Prove to me that I am liable for buying a box set from an private Ebay seller, and I'll think otherwise. I'd think that this was Ebay's problem to sort out, not mine!
  2. Fair enough. I won't argue about where they came from, but for people who can't necessarily afford Mosaic prices (and shipping!), I'll gladly take the discount. I need not worry about their origins, only that they aren't ripping me off. That may not be very diplomatic, but it's how I must proceed until I earn an income that supports excess music purchases. On the other hand, I would hate to see these matters significantly burden Mosaic business to the point that they would eventually have to close operations. Unfortunately, I don't have a choice at this time. My budget is tight, and if I want the music I must look for the best possible deal. I don't really think it's the consumer's job to differentiate between who is selling the product. Rather, it's the manufacturer's job to eliminate these choices by ensuring these back-room deals don't take place.
  3. I thought I might revive this thread from obscurity. Does anyone know when SVU has new shows again? They've been stuck on re-run for a couple of weeks now.
  4. Well, if no one is going to buy my box sets, you might as well buy Mosaic Selects for $32 from this guy. I've bought from him in the past. Don Pullen Andrew Hill Art Pepper Ebay link
  5. Nice Blue Mitchell here. I owned this session at one time, but hold out hope we may see a Les McCann Select someday. In the meantime, this set is OOP and was part of the Collector's Choice Series. Grab it if the price is right.
  6. Does anyone have recommendations regarding who I should be using and when I should be booking flights? I'm obviously looking for the best deal! So far United is $499 return, but there is going to be significat add-ons (taxes, service fees) because they are a U.S. airline, and I live in Canada.
  7. Has anyone been to restaurant; "Maxim"? I heard that it was terrific.
  8. Genius! Thanks again, Guy! I look forward to receiving the list.
  9. Some good stories there. What is everyone's top sights other than the Eiffel Tower and Louvre?
  10. Do you folks have any suggestions for good hotels? Eateries? Or would you recommend renting an apartment over staying at an Inn/Hotel? Pipe in here brownie! B-)
  11. Hi Folks, Since you guys are better than Fodders by a long shot, I was wondering what recommendations you have for Paris. Carla and I are thinking about a trip in late-October or early-November. Is this a bad time of year to be going there? Any help that you good folks can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  12. You're right, Brandon..."The New World" looks like a great flick! It is a Fall 2005 release though.
  13. "War of the Worlds" by Spielberg. And also...not really summer, but I hope "The Interpreter" by Sydney Pollack is thought-prevoking. "Kingdom of Heaven" was a flick I wanted to see badly, but I saw a trailer last night that portrayed it as a love story. I want to see battle sa la "Gladiator." Surprisingly, the new "Batman" looks interesting as well.
  14. Whenever I saw him post, I automatically thought of the 80's sitcom starring Scott Baio called "Charles in Charge." Think "Che in Charge."
  15. Would this have to do with his political preferences?
  16. I can dig that. I was just interested if he threw a fit, and the majority of the board somehow missed it.
  17. Wow, a true revolutionary/Marxist-Leninist!
  18. After all, he was killed 38 years ago! It does make sense.
  19. What's the deal with members asking to be banned and having their posts deleted?
