    Bob Dylan corner

Apologies if this is old news but I couldn't find it on a search. I've been reading Uncut 320 which has an article on Dylan's 1978 tour of Japan. Apparently Walter Davis Jr. was first choice as pianist but he got tired of waiting for Bob to show up and left. He was replaced by Alan Pasqua who later played piano on Dylan's Nobel acceptance speech and then on Murder Most Foul. Pasqua is also on Street Legal.
  3. I used to work with Peter, before he moved to Sheffield. I'm 74 and he was a few years older than me so he's long past retirement age. Perhaps the University have stopped hosting?
  4. Juno Download has some of the Capitol Vault series at a reasonable price in all formats. https://www.junodownload.com/search/?q%5Ball%5D%5B%5D=capitol+vault
  5. Even worse, in the small print: 'The digital version of this release contains only a portion of the material on the 2xLP, and none of the previously unissued recordings.' What's the point?
  6. ART PEPPER PROMISE KEPT: THE COMPLETE ARTISTS HOUSE RECORDINGS Flac, £12.49.
  7. I Could Write A Book (Telarc) and My Horns Of Plenty (Birdology) are also very good.
  8. UK Amazon: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Promise-Kept-Complete-Artists-Recordings/dp/B07TKNGCZ8/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=art+pepper&qid=1565761591&rnid=1642204031&s=music&sr=1-1
  9. I don't know most of these tracks - although I love Rose Room - so maybe something from the Schema label, if not previously included?
  10. Some obscure - to me at least - jazz from the '50s being released by Sundazed, for example 'Cohn on the Saxophone'. https://sundazedmusic.bandcamp.com
  11. Thanks for a good read. I bought the cd reissue many years ago and must give it a play.
  12. I've always liked Neshamah by Tim Sparks, on Tzadik. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neshamah-Tim-Sparks/dp/B00000JWLT/ref=sr_1_8?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1518090669&sr=1-8
  13. Some Clarke Boland material recently released on Bandcamp, download only. https://thekennyclarke-francybolandbigband.bandcamp.com https://thekennyclarke-francybolandsextet.bandcamp.com
  14. Has anyone seen the download available for purchase in flac/wav? Nothing on the Concord website. Own question answered - it's on Qobuz.
  15. It's listed on the BGO website. Cheaper than Amazon, as well. https://www.bgo-records.com/albums/bgocd1290-highway-one-conception-the-gift-of-love-un-poco-loco
  16. I've listened to Ornette for 50 years and would be interested in hearing this music. But it's much too expensive. Why don't they offer a basic cd set or a download?
  17. His wonderful playing with John Handy on the Monterey Festival lp/cd is something I never tire of.
  18. John Coltrane: Live at Birdland. I was about 16 (born in 1949), lying in bed, listening to a foreign radio station and it came on. Instantly hooked.
  19. Wonderful record which I bought when it was released and have listened to ever since.
  20. The Aretha box as download: http://www.junodownload.com/products/aretha-franklin-the-atlantic-albums-collection/3007775-02/ 236 tracks in WAV, £12.49.
  21. Lots of digitised (FLAC/WAV) music from Justin Time has appeared on Juno. http://www.junodownload.com/search/?q%5Blabel%5D%5B%5D=%22justin+time%22&solrorder=relevancy
  22. Sorry, the Nice. Knives in the keyboard but can't remember a flag being burnt.
