  1. THREAD CLOSED *WILL Consolidate and Create New Topic THANK YOU PRICES REDUCED As noted, selling off a massive 40,000 CD collection, beginning with boxed sets. Thanks for several of you for purchases, but moreover for messages/conversations and meeting. I wanted to try these set here before going off to the crazy world of eBay. As I have said to those with whom I have spoken and dealt, I have tried to research the current market values (sold and offer) on Discogs and eBay and current offerings on Amazon. I need to get close to market values, but I do not need to extract the last possible dollar. I want easy transactions that are mutually fair and amenable. The real fun is passing along the music to fellow music lovers. If you see anything that is out-of-wack, please feel free to tell me (and why) and I will reconsider. Amenable to best offers. PAYMENT: Accept PayPal - no fee for US - Please add 2% in Canada, Mexico and Worldwide. I can accept other methods of payment that are mutually amenable. SHIPPING: Will ship worldwide - shipping will be at actual cost of chosen method (plus insurance or requested special services) - I typically ship USPS Priority Mail, but can ship Media Mail via other services (at request). I will normally ship next-day after receipt of payment, but will communicate any planned or unintended variance. Again - no additional fee for domestic PayPal payment - outside US, please add 2%. When convenient, use of PayPal Friends and Family is appreciated. 2. Awesome. So glad to hear - I had held-off a bit in hoping, but we now need the space and money. ;-) Someone will be enjoying great music and man, I so loved that book. Thanks and best, scott
  3. Thanks, Bill so great to hear from you. Hope all is wonderful. Will message you. Best, Scott
  4. Hi Chuck Darn nice seeing you pop-up on this. Heck, after the ride of the past five-years, I am just happy to be seeing anyone! Hope you are well. As you would well recognize, it is easy to tell this was a labor of love. I forget who the ctitic was that said it reminded him of a gift held in a Japanese presentation box, but I agree. All my best, Scott (and Ellen)
  5. SOLD - thanks, Bill ICTUS Records 30th Anniversary Boxed Set (1976-2005) Here is a beautifully curated set of music form percussionist, Andrea Cenfazzo and his Italian improvised music label, Ictus. Designed by Andrea, the set is housed in a nice mid-form size, rich blue outer box with gold printing, that opens to a beautiful, but more modest-sized, yet printed on much heavier paper than the larger FMP sets, book with historical photos and information of the enclosed cd sessions. The 12cds are in lovely high-quality, recycled art paper (mostly in natural brown, burgundy and blue tones), highlighted by photos by Andrea. What sounds like a vanity projuct is surprisingly in both music quality and diversity. Artists include Steve Lacy (often), Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, ROVA Saxophone Quartet, La Donna Smith, Alvin Curren, Lester Bowie, Vinnie Golia and many more. Will ship worldwide at actual cost of shipping and insurance. Accept PayPal - no fee for US - Please add 2% in Canada, Mexico and Worldwide. Shipping is from Murrysville, PA - Pick-up is available Thanks, Scott Black
  6. SOLD Thank you Boxed set of all the wild, wooly, fun and so creative recordings from the first 45-years of the Instant Composers Pool (ICP) This is ICP 1275-I. #55 of the Limited Edition Dated 2012 Personal art work from Han Bennink The set includes 52 cds/2 dvds / discography /poster and the amazing 120-page book of photos and info. The packaging was just as crazy as the ICP itself, so the box top right corner was slightly damaged in shipping and the cds were askew inside their box packaging, but fortunately not damaged. I put poly sleeve on all the mini-lps covers to protect the artwork. All inner materials are excellent+ to near-mint. This box is a great joy and I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying at least a great deal of this music. Some will find it absolutely indispensable. For more info, I would refer you to Kevin Whitehead’s great writing about the the artists, music and its creation. Will ship worldwide at actual cost of shipping and insurance. Accept PayPal - no fee for US - Please add 2% in Canada, Mexico and Worldwide. Shipping is from Murrysville, PA - Pick-up is available Thanks, Scott Black
  7. SOLD. Thank you SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD With apologies to another forum member selling the same item here. As we are now downsizing from our new retirement home, I will be selling a great number of approx 40,000 cds. First is this awesome boxed set (after a non-paying buyer on eBay (this was the set on which another member was authorized to bid for a friend) so coming back to a place where I have purchased so much from many or you). *I will be selling off a fairly large collection of boxed sets before moving (a bit more slowly) to select single discs. All materials are in excellent condition - the box demonstrates normal shelf wear with some raising of the paper label (like seemingly all FMP boxes) on the spine. CDs are excellent+ to mint. Box is near-mint and beautiful. Will ship worldwide at actual cost of shipping and insurance. Accept PayPal - no fee for US - Please add 2% in Canada, Mexico and Worldwide. Shipping is from Murrysville, PA - Pick-up is available Thanks, Scott Black
  8. Fortunate to have also heard him live several times. What a joy! I think my first exposure was “Trip on the Strip” on Prestige with Stan Hunter. Then, like ao many others, he really hit me as a sideman on “Agharta” and Charles Sullivan’s “Genesis” on Strata East ... and at that same time as a leader on “Awakening.” I have returned many times to the “Great Friends” recording with Billy Harper, Stanley Cowell, Bill Hart and Reggie Workman. Loved and saw him twice during his final resurgence. Excellent playing and great music each time. Personal sadness. Peace and blessings, Sonny. Thanks for the great music and memories.
  9. Hi John, I may be able to assist - just sent you a message. Best, Scott
  10. Hi John,

Hope this note finds you well.

just “awoke” from our recent retirement move and saw your note LF: the Beirach/Leibman Mosaic Select set. Will soon start selling off a ton of my 40k cd collection and this is one among nearly all.

I am out of the pricing loop these days, but is $50 + $5 shipping, w/ me covering PP fees fair?

    Thanks and best,

    Scott Black

  11. Actually it appears that when time came to make payment, the “buyer” disappeared, so it will likely again be up for auction soon. We have been in the midst of coordinating some work on the retirement home, so I missed the remainder of the thread. Thanks for bidding for your friend - you are the kind of friends we are fortunate make through this music, Thanks, Brad. That is very kind. Best to you. As noted offline, all is very much appreciated.
  12. Hi Gang, Been a long time away due to ill health. Greatly missed reading words, banter and (mostly) purchasing from many of you. Due to the ill health, I am heading to an assisted retirement community. With that move brings a massive downsize and the sale of much of my 40,000+ CD collection. Among the first of the music to go will be my boxes - including many imports, Mosaics, Mosaic Selects and others. Over the next month, I hope to sell most of those boxes here, but the FMP Cecil Taylor Berlin '88 box is one of a couple I posted on ebay. As an opportunistic heads-up, the auction ends on Sunday, August 26th at 1:11 PM EASTERN. I have a low (now met) reserve of $150 on it, so it may be a great opportunity for someone here who has wanted it, but was not able to reach the usual $ amount required. If interested, please head over to: https://www.ebay.com/itm/312219538794 Finally, thanks to so many of you for your well-wishes and offers of assistance in so many ways. As one who has been very quiet here, but deeply involved in this music for so long, it meant a great deal to my wife and me. Thanks also to Organissimo, Jim and all involved in this site ... including all of you who have provided me with much great music and joy over the years.
