  1. Herbie for sure. Also Wynton Kelly, Jim Hall and Tony Williams.
  2. I wonder if Bush is a CHILL Music kinda guy? Did Botti make his iPod list?
  3. get a load of this gimme a break
  4. Sox managed to take one from the Tribe w/ Timlin closing out the game. Final score 5-2
  5. What the hell is wrong with Foulke? He's been inconsistent all season. I suspect he has a minor injury or hurting in some way that is comprimising his velocity. Anyway get a load of this: "I'm more embarrassed to walk into this locker room and look at the faces of my teammates than I am to walk out and see Johnny from Burger King booing me." -- Keith Foulke
  6. A beautiful player and one I'd like to hear more from. I saw him last summer with Terri Lynne Carrington's group at the Charlie Parker Festival in Tompkins Square Park. An excellent set btw! The only record I have him on is the Greg Osby recording The Invisible Hand. Could you recommend others?
  7. how about when people say/write "I could care less" when what they should be saying is "I couldn't care less" I hear that mistake more often than any other.
  8. This one is great! AND THE TROGDOR COMES IN THE NIIIIIIIIGHT!
  9. I've been spinning that set while reading the "Chronicles of the Herds" book. Such incredible stuff!
  10. Hey Brad, All the Fresh Sound stuff is still there. He just moved it into the big room where all the Vynil is. It's actually a bigger selection than what I remember from past visits.
  11. And as I said a few posts earlier. The Yankees dominant win streak has been against teams that are below .500. So far when they've faced the better teams this season, they've fallen apart. They have Kansas City coming up so they shouldn't have a problem there. The Sox however are starting up w/ Baltimore tonight so we'll see if they can keep this up.
  12. That loss hurt real bad Marty. No doubt about that. I wouldn't say the Yankees won that game as much as I would say the Sox threw it away. They had a lot of opportunities to score and stranded a lot of guys on base. Against Randy Johnson no less! He's not what he used to be and if I were a Yankee fan I'd be concerened. I would be very surprised if he remains effective throughout the season and possibly post-season. If he has to work as hard as he did last night he'll eventually implode. And you have to remember also. The Yankees big win streak has been with teams mostly under .500 (Seattle, Oakland, Detroit).
  13. c'mon the yankees all look the same. They've got that corporate / republican look. I'll take individuality anyday.
  14. I hear ya Dan. Last night's game was painful to watch. Especially since the Yankees have heated up and don't seem to lose very often. Unfortunately we have to take the good with the bad. Considering how baseball ebbs and flows I'm confident they'll heat up soon.
  15. Well now the search is on. I may have to hit the Jazz Record Center this week. Anyone looking for anything? Let me know and I can get back to you w/ Fred's prices.
  16. Dan I hear what you're saying. I think I've heard a few tracks from that one before and thought the same thing. In fact, that may have been the first Roach I ever heard and I thought that he seemed the least modern of the organists I had heard at the time. But with Ike Quebec how can you go wrong?
  17. Heavy Soul is another one that has given me the "bug". That is a fantastic record! Now I gotta track down It Might As Well Be Spring
  18. Those look sweet. I'm definitely getting those.
  19. thanks for the tip. I'm not into paying the import prices. Well I guess if they've released two titles domestically the other three will follow eventually
  20. ok I'm totally digging Brown Sugar and I've been enjoying Good Move for a few years and I've got the fever! Anyone here know where I might find copies of the other 3 sessions Roach did for Blue Note?
  21. Listening to Extensions this morning on the way to work. Great stuff!
  22. Got my copy yesterday and dumped it right on my iPod. I've not heard the TOJC to compare. I'm not an audiophile but so far it sounds very good.
  23. not sure if it will last but I'm enjoying every minute of it! Steinbrenner's obsession with building a team of hired guns may have finally caught up with him.
  24. more sox woes Sox-Rays suspensions: Six games for Arroyo Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo has been suspended six games by Major League Baseball for his role in Sunday's bench-clearing brawl with the Devil Rays. Both managers and five other players also were disciplined. full story here
