I am a Maxjazz recording artist, jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer. I was introduced to this forum from a drummer friend of mine, Randy Marsh. I'd like to use this service to network with other musicians and fans of the music, as well as participate in discussions about jazz-related subjects.

I released an album in August of 2007 called "Moon and Sand" on the Maxjazz label (http://maxjazz.com/proulx/card/)
It features Chuck Berghofer on bass, and Joe LaBarbera on drums. Pianist Tamir Hendelman produced the CD. If you'd like to hear clips from the CD, you can visit my website: www.johnproulx.com.

I was also recently a guest on Marian McPartland's piano jazz program on NPR radio. If you missed the broadcast, you can still hear it on her website, http://www.npr.org/programs/pianojazz/.

As a composer, I've had songs recorded by Mary Stallings, and most recently by Nancy Wilson on her Grammy-winning CD, "Turned To Blue". I co-wrote a tune on that album called "These Golden Years"

Besides playing with my trio around the LA area, I also play regularly with a couple of local big bands: Mike Barone's Big Band, and Randy Aldcroft's big band. We have recorded three CDs with Mike Barone's band. If you'd like to hear samples from those CDs, you can visit his website: http://www.mikebaronemusic.com/.

If you'd like to get a hold of me, you can email me at:

john@johnproulx.com

Thanks, and let's keep jazz alive and thriving!
