  7. just one remark: the 1952 is a 5 CD box set only....
  8. I'm completely with you on the rating for the quality of those sets but need to correct you about the number of box sets available... The Volume 6 covering 1955 is already announced for release end of October (so now) and mine is awaiting shipment from France so we have 5 box sets already available Cheers, tjobbe
  9. I'm not worrying to much about sounding although I do throw away records that tend to be following the loudness race or have other faults like over compression etc.... Actual labels I prefer that deliver both good sound and good actual (jazz) music are German ACT, Enja, the French Label Bleu, Austrian Quinton Records and Danish Stunt/Sundance. Cheers, Tjobbe
  10. not yet Reinier it is on my "wishlist", but if you like his music this OOP LP from 1987 is now available on emusic as MP3 download From the Artists home page: Cheers, Tjobbe

  17. check this book at amanzon here: http://www.amazon.com/Popularizing-Nation-...e/dp/0803212836 which deals with the German post WW-1 Kitsch period. Not sure if that helps as well as that is what you intend to look for. Cheers, Tjobbe

  22. because the word Appell is used exactly that way in german language as well. I guess its a heritage from Napoleon and french occupation back than. There are some area's in the "Rheinland" that still uses geman pronounced french wordings.
