  1. btw...search works now, they obviously needed run some indexing.... Cheers, Tjobbe
  2. Excellent, thanks! How did you find this? I seem to have tried everything but didn't stumble across this album. The sort function doesn't seem to work as it's supposed to (listing freshly added items first or last). you need to directly enter those article numbers I posted earlier directly into the shopping card or browse through the full list of Jazz CD's rather...
  3. they are not able to pay me enough money so that I can afford my addiction to buy Jazz records...
  4. BTW: does anyone have an opinion (positive or negative) on those two sets (502924, 9,99€) and a three-fer from Pablo called The greatest concert in the world (502927, 7,99) as specially the second one is tempting Cheers, Oliver
  5. if you are anyway ordering the Mingus Debut ... check out the following article 502714 and you will get the Loney Star as the missing of the three Prestiges now....I myself overlooked it when fightingmy way through the website today. Cheers, Oliver
  6. the Cologne one which is 2h by Car or train, but you might want to call before going there at +49.221.2573550..... Cheers, Oliver
  7. With your "smilie" I am not sure that you were serious about this, or not. If this is a serious offer by 2001, how can I find it online? I tried to find it, but without success ... Do you have an item number? In the meantime, like most of us, I am awaiting my two orders from Concord ... you need to enter the following article code 502925 into the "Bestellzettel" to get it... my order is already confirmed. They also have added some quite nice OJC (Tjader, Manne, Golson, Mraz) that I order alongside. You can only find those via CD->JAzz-> list them all, sorted by price or Artist. They are right now not found when entering the appropriate string into the Search box Hope that helps... Cheers, Oliver
  8. sorry, they cannot be retrieved via search but list cds->jazz and sort by and (EDIT:) as well by enteringthe above article number into the "Bestellzettel" directly
  9. a quick note on 2001: they currently have that nice 12CD Mingus Debut on sale for 30€.... Cheers, Tjobbe
  10. I'm now reading nearly 30 pages of Us american folks being able to buy-out Concord records and feel sad not being able to get those K2's ...but here's my deadly revenge: 2001 has the 12 CD complete Mingus Debut recording in stock and on sale for unbeatable 30€ ! So after pressing the prder now button.. I can now be very relaxed when reading all the good stuff you got... Cheers, Oliver
  11. my 2 cents: I meanwhile have three MP3 players - one for outdoors being a CF player with replacable cards and replacable AAA batteries, a simple and robust and meanwhile "old" gadget. The stuff I put on there is normally 128kbit/s Lame encoded and that's ok. - one 5GB Olympus m:robe100 which is now fully packed with music (mainly stuff when being on the train, plane or else travelling) and looking much more stylish than those Apples. I'm there using VBR3 encoding (should be around 160-190kbit/s), normally the rate that emusic is offering. - a 30GB Packard Bell one that I use a mobile disc for unloading my photos (having UTG), doing regular back-ups of my notebook stuff (emails, work items) as well as player being able to drive regular headphones easily (Sennheiser HD25-1) but its a lot heavier (150gr.) so nothing to carry around every time. I would not want to miss it.....I'm there using VBR2 encoding (should be around 256+kbit/s) when saving records there. Cheers, Tjobbe
  12. have written this "review" on SA-CD.net for the Terry Clark The other one I own is that Chet Baker recording which I found worth buying. If you are in to SACD as superior sound... drop those, but they sound as slightly better than other of those "non-legal" EU releases If you are in to 4.0/5.1 .... run away, as beside very few exceptions, all are initial mono recordings even... Hope that helps, Oliver
  13. Hi Ray, yes Claude is right with the time to Amsterdam...its about 2:50, I believe I mixed that with the planned fast track connection to come. To Cologne its now 2h with the new fast track to Liege but the train still slows down to a sightseeing trip speed between there an Aix en Chapelle/Aachen through the Ardenne. The Cologne 2001 BTW is 15min. walking from the Central Station Cheers, Oliver
  14. Brussels is quite nice, but I was only there for short trips rather and cannot recommend any jazz shops there. What I would advice to do is take the Thalys Highspped Train to PAris and/or Amsterdam being a 1:30+ trip and availalble often for a bargain when booked via Internet (www.thalys.com). One hint (based on personal experience): avoid using a rental car in Brussels , even with the best map and navigation system you might not reach your target. Cheers, Tjobbe BTW: by train, its about 2hours to Cologne as well so basically you're there in the heart of Europe. Have fun !
  15. in base principles I would agree to use MP3 to distribute the BT's and with rapidshare, you can e.g. get a delete link that allows you to remove that after all participents have confirmed the download. Distributing the link via email should be fine as well. EDIT: the files are removed after a certain period in any case automatically. Note that there is anyway a restriction to download ma 100MB per 24h with a free, public access to Rapidshare. Up to now that has worked for me small amount of data. The 100MB limit is ok when using max 128kbit/s encoding rate on normal sized CD-R Cheers, Oliver
  16. For those of you interested in the Clifford Brown Emercy set (and willing to check out german www.jpc.de site ) they right now have the 10CD box set on sale (not sure for how long and how many) for 20€ plus S&H.... Cheers, Tjobbe
  17. does anyone know whether these additions are stuff from the Juli Merkheft... (and i can wait and get them at the store in two weeks) or whether they are items that have to be ordered in the internet? would be very thankful for a reply (left so much money at their store during the last few weeks and would appreciate the possibility to wait till july begins) yes, they should be in there. I today already got the two Baker's, the Kloss, Timmons and one of those Earland and tried Chet already...
  18. Flurin, was this the website you referred to in your PM ? If yes...thanks a lot, need to polish my french a bit but I guess I can fight my way through it. Cheers, Oliver EDIT: I fear that website will take away some of my money.....
  19. ...is someone willing to sell or trade the Mainly Mancini CD version ? Cheers, Tjobbe
  20. ...and I have a strict deadline from my wife to stop helping them to get rid of those..... no further comments.... Cheers, Oliver
  21. yes Eric, you have two addresses, one for the invoice that would match basically the address on the CC, if you pay by that as forigner, and the there is a tick-box below the first that is followed by an entry box allowing to enter a delivery address different from invoice address. Let me know if you need some support on that. Cheers, Oliver
  22. one buying advise (as someone enjoying Horace Silver's playing) is the Paris Blues CD for 3€, even for the regular price a great set with with great music as well as the Ellington&Brown duette on This one's for Blanton. Cheers, Tjobbe
  23. yepp, cornflakes would be nice... Forgot: they reduced the 4CD Ella on Pablo Live to 8€...for those you might care.
  24. For those still having money in the pocket, 2001 is now selling finally the Sonny Rollins Freelance years 5CD box for 15€ (and if you don't have it, buy it now). On sale as well you'll find the Monk Prestige 3fer for unbeatable 6€ and a lot of those 2,99€ OJC and other Fantasy releases from non that prominent artists added like four Charles Earland, Stitt&Patterson, two 70's Hampton Hawes, another Eric Kloss etc... Cheers, Tjobbe P.S. two records I've buyed ad hoc (beside the Monk Prestige and the Eric Kloss one) is the 2LP on 1 CD set of Bobby Timmons on Prestige and one Johnny Griffin (The Kerry Dancers) containing interpretations of UK Folk songs. (never saw both before elsewhere)
