I have browsed a bunch of Jazz Monthly lately. Enjoyed their articles, reviews, interviews and photographs. Was nice learning more from Val Wilmer in this interview.

I purchased Out to Lunch! and Birth of the Cool a few years ago at Uniqlo (Shanghai Daning), pretty happy about it.
Way way too many tshirts at the moment so I won't buy from the recent BN batch. I quite like this design found on the interweb: -
Kenny Dorham - Quiet Kenny
The Benny Golson Quintet- Gettin' With It -
Zoot Sims – The Modern Art Of Jazz

Same. my favorite Gato is from the post-3rdWorld and pre-Ruby period. The outputs of Pharoah in the 70s are my favorite (Izipho Zam, Elevation, Live at the East, Journey, soft spot for the India's Pharoah). Still have to listen to Wisdom and Love in us All from that period. But I can find a record I really enjoy from Pharoah in each and every decade. Same preferences would apply to Shepp for me.

Jacky Cnudde was said being a french swing pianist who changed his style after listening to Monk .... so he knew the Monk Songbook rather well ....
Thanks for the info soulpope, still a bit of mystery, but that's part of the fun.

I like the 8 LP French reissues "Bird On Verve" from the mid eighties. Great cover, great sound and the personnel is always listed. I still have to purchase the fifth volume.
