  1. Yes, I'll blame them too for shafting me with a surcharge on my future Dusty Groove and Mosaic orders! I was just getting to enjoy £1 = $1.9
  2. A wise move King Ubu - this one is not to be missed !
  3. Isn't that Yusef Lateef's nom de disque? ← Interesting ! Track 1 on this album is probably my favourite - an absolute scorcher. I like the chick on the cover too...
  4. I've been enjoying the greeze on 'The Love I've Been Looking For' for many a year now. Think I bought it for £0.50 in a sale circa 1975
  5. Mickey Tucker Friar Tuck The Bishop of Bath and Wells
  6. The Woman in White Barry White Black Adder
  7. That seems to make a bit more sense with my own recollections. I suspect that original issue might have been Dutch Riverside. Quite rare, in any case.
  8. Worth checking with Mr Tanno to see if he has a nice Japanese Prestige of this up his sleeve. That's how I got mine..
  9. Aha - yes, that's the one I was thinking of. I think the original was put out on Dutch Fontana or Phillips, can't quite recall which. Don't think it was Riverside.
  10. I have this on video from an old TV broadcast and it leaves me cold. Typical of the 1980s - along with the things put out by Windham Hill.
  11. Well - you've just sold that one to me. I'm a sucker for Cannonball and that 'In Europe' is one you don't see on vinyl too often. I assume this is the one that was recorded at Comblain La Tour?
  12. Indeed a truly excellent re-mastering. Releases such as this increase my faith in the CD medium.
  13. Jimmy Witherspoon Jimmy Rushing Big Joe Turner
  14. I'll second that ! (or at least the sort of jazz I am into)
  15. Just listening to my batch from 'The Bards' which arrived across the oggin today right on cue. These Water reissues are astonishing - the re-mastering and presentation of 'The Phantom' is very fine, up to Japanese standards IMO. The packaging, liner notes and art work are just great, obvious labour of love. Huge for Water - I hope they keep this up.
  16. Chief Pontiac Big Chief De Soto Christopher Columbus ← Columbo Kojak Ironside
  17. It's certainly true about the sound quality. I have some of the original LPs and they are full of re-verb courtesy of Sonny Lester. Mosaic did wonders in clearing up the fidelity and clarity of the music.
  18. Roberto Duran Marguerite Duras Margaret Dumont ← Marguerite Eskridge Erin Davis Kenny Garrett
  19. I must admit that this is a set that I bring out again and again. The track sequencing works well for me, the sound is pleasing and the booklet is a gem.
  20. Josef Hoffman Marcel Breuer Eileen Gray ← Lady Jane Grey Henry the VIIIth John Coltrane
  21. You'll probably get hold of 'Heart is a Lotus' before me !
