  1. PM Sent on: Louis Armstrong Louis and the Good Book $5 Louis Armstrong Satchmo in Style $5
  2. I stand corrected! Great set, out of print, hard to find etc. I'm not selling mine unless I have to...
  3. There's some Joe Morello and Bill Perkins material on the set that's not on the 80s BN discs. And the cheapest Amazon "The Art of Pepper" is $30 right now.
  4. Thanks for the heads up, TJ. I've only had the masters set. That's about to change.
  5. Thanks for clarifying! Even one of the customer reviews on Amazon says Definitive did an awesome job w/ the set, fueling me confusion... Edit: my*
  6. It's Andorran. Anyone have it? Edit: It has Columbia/Sony/Legacy logos on back. I'm confused. That's the same pic as the Andorran one on Amazon US, and it differs greatly from the official one: Lady Day: the Complete Billie Holiday on Columbia 1933-1944
  7. The folks at lulu.com are a good bunch. It's been years since I used them, but it was a good experience.
  8. "...Gamble said the structure is not listed as a city landmark" Wha?!?!?! Really?
  9. Sometimes artists get bogged down by proper craft and start producing over-thought crap, right? It's no hard and fast rule, but the really thrilling stuff happens before craft has been figured out, before rules get in the way. I think craft is swell, but instinct, if it's good, wins. Also: I'm old. But if I was just 17 (you know what I mean) I'd totally identify w/ early Beatles lyrics. As it is, like Bev said, it's sounds I'm responding to.
  10. Haven't checked against my discs, but this looks like the really early stuff Naxos has out everywhere but the US.
  11. PM coming on Sound of Sonny. Hope you haven't mailed Smack Up yet! Cliff: I love Smack Up! Never heard the K2 though....
  12. Thanks, Hans. If I can't turn up a used one, I'll email Hiroshi.
  13. If anyone wants to let go of one, please let me know! Thanks. No slipcover necessary
  14. There is a place on Capital Blvd in Raleigh called Carolina Packaging, used to use 'em. Their LP mailers kept dropping in quality and going up in price, now we Uline for regular LP boxes and Bags Unltd for the 3" deep ones, which is probably what you'll need for Mosaics. You might find decent boxes locally, but Uline/BU's stuff is always awesome quality. I don't know if CP has deep ones, for some reason I was always convinced they didn't, though. Also: If you want to buy a few from us or just have a gander at the quality of what we use, drop by the next time you're in town.
  15. U-Line has good selection too. How many do you need?
  16. Thanks, Chuck- looks like the Cole material's at emusic, so that takes care of some of it, sans alternates...
  17. Dang. Late! I'm noticing that some of the material's on the '43/44 and '44 Chronological Classics. Does anyone know if the rest was omitted for a reason? Different leaders, maybe?
