  1. i couldn't resist! OK, two sides......Jazz or Country? You may remember.... I don't know Snorah that much.....but its unfair to make those jockes! Its not pure jazz and i wish Blue Note would sign more great jazz newcomers like Organissimo for example, its a Jazz Label...and don't ask me why they signed Van Morrison? Are they nuts?.....there are many great jazz artist out there who deserved beeing reconized! I understand the angry statements against the multi-grammy seller....but i guess she don't want all this popstar-bullshit (woohoo, great to use those bad words in an american-forum, thanks guys ) that cames over her in the last two years...and if they would ask her for a teaching-job, i guess she would say "no"..... greeetz Paco
  2. too much "fucks"? it a shame......new ideas are always based on old material......why they don't get that? try to step into a new direction without the information from your past-direction.....how you'll know its "a new direction"...... the world is mad! And Kenny G plays the soundtrack.......
  3. am i death?.... ..no still here! Thx my friends! to say it with the words of Lois Armstrong: "All music is folk music. I ain't never heard a horse sing a song!" greeetz paco
  4. the first "four for jazz" drummer was Peter Giger....got a CD "best of FOUR FOR JAZZ with Benny Bailey (trumpet)".....its a great record! Joe tells me a funny story where he came with a Hohner Clavinet into a rehersal ...in 1967......and he also plugs some fx-devices between his old wurlitzer piano and the amplifier.....that was completly new for a jazz group....the audience was shocked several times....guess he had a lot of fun! Peter Giger had also a lot of indish percussion, a big gong and lot of funny stuff in his drumset, Joe told me......
  5. " lalalalala...lalala...tratratra...this CD contains music, just play it for personal enjoy....an unathorized copy of the CD can damaged your equipment, you have been warned....or we'll put you in jail for the rest of your days....Big Brother is watching you....don't say anything against our guvnorment or against our organisation, we'll hear anything...there is a satellite up in space, that controls every of your movements.....you have been warned twice now! Kind regards your federal bureau of investigations and anti-piracy-music-copy-right-contol-executive-departement...lalalala-traraaatraaatraaa...lalalala" (trailer out.....music begins to play)
  6. the school was founded by Heinz Bigler.....Joe was one of the first teachers on the school...i know him pretty good (we eat dinner together a few years ago....he's a nice guy and impressive pianist!) Yes, Billie is still on the school.... B-)
  7. they vistited switzerland at my 26th birthday it was a great show!!! Wayne is one of my all-time-fav guitarists! The band also contains Craig Taborn on fender-rhodes & Nate Smith on drums.....Chris plays his sax a bit too furious, but Wayne and Craig had a great interaction between slow airy pads and killer-flowing cascades of notes...great harmonics, chords......and they smiled a lot on stage, you can see they really enjoy to play! all the best paco
  8. Hi all maybe someone of ya may use it.... very cool: http://www.singingfish.com/ enjoy! all the best Paco
  9. i hate when the crowd talks much louder than we play...... ... or when the crowd smokes too much......i need fresh air! or my all time hate-thing about gigging ...when the power goes down......and the drummer starts his 45min. drum-solo! LOLOLOL (j/k)
  10. just take an instrument you feeling good on it and play it..... i'm happy to found an instrument that fits perfect for me....for less buck (2nd hand) better instrument = better action, handling, etc......its not up to the price.....even a cheaper instrument can be "better" enjoy playin'
  11. always.....even the rehersals .....(dat recorder and two Neuman KM184 miks...thats it!)
  12. Funny Bear-Stories: http://www.passion-pictures.com/admin/site...all_tripple.mov & in the "real" life...... http://www.plawner.org/videos/bears_life.mpg B)
  13. i would buy it.....i need a new t-shirt! ...(j/k) ...mmh? 185$ is a lot....but when i read the content....it looks pretty cool and worthy..... greeetz paco
  14. don't set dynamic range with dynamic headroom....96dB is just a theoretical value.....most DACs in normal CD players use a dynamic range of about 90dB most music today use a dynamic headroom of 20dB or so...absolutly right what you said..... but the dynamic range between the little wispher to a inferno of tone (created by a acoustic instrument so as the piano...or take a whole classical orchestra...contains a dynamic range more than 100dB.....yeah, sure...you need better speakers, an amplifier who dosen't decrese the dynamic range of a "real" good DAC....a room where you can hear music, specially designed to hear music ....that would be much expensive.... ...for minidisc or mp3 or AAC....we don't worry about that all! ooh there is a cool way to decrese Audio-File (for internet-use) without loss for Windows: http://www.softsound.com/Shorten.html for Linux or Mac: http://www.hornig.net/shorten/ have fun! greetz paco
  15. Let me say it like this: if ya increse the bit-rate you have more dynamic-headroom in the music....normal 16bit rate "only" handle 96dB (theroretical value is 6dB per Bit...but thats just theoretical stuff ) it would make more sense to use 24bits/44.1khz than 16bits....but most of the music today has no dynamic in recording.... ....SACD is cool, but difficult to spread your cds, cuz most peps use the old players.... on Mp3 you loose information behind that what you hear.....it cuts all "masked" information greeetz Paco
  16. Hello Fellows! B) ok...that sounds stupid (cuz i'm stupid )....thats my kinda way to share "informations" with other musicians.... Jazz OR Country? thats the "main" question right now.....Jazz or Country.... ...it becomes an ironic touch! B) Made by: Myself (guitars, bass, vibraphone & drums) & Dan Leveillee (vocals & lyrics) have fun...thats we made it for..... greeetz paco
  17. ...i working in a musicstore (as service-technician for all kind electronics...& tube amp repairs of corse )...and had the pleasure to test the new fender amps....i was really surprised.....made some tests with my ES-347 over the new ProReverb Amp.....full rich tone.....sounding even better as the "normal" Twin Reverb '65 with 2x12".... now its really hard for me....i wanna buy a new amp my favs: Peavey Delta Blues with 15" Fender ProReverb Peavey Classic30 (the one i rent form my store ) or wait until the Twin reverb Classic 15 cames in.....i'm in europe, and i guess they came in the next two months..... B) @ thx herb for the pre-test, sounds very cool what you talking about! greeetz paco

  23. maybe this summer, i would get one......the mini-version with 4GB or the 10GB normal version fits perfect for me....i don't need video-transfer, super-duper-features.....just good audioquality....i still got my big old akg C240 hearphones......i always looking very funny with 'em....i just need it for music..... sure, i'm a appleholic .....
  24. great album! I'm totally in love with it! with Larry Grenadier on acoustic bass, Bill Steward on drums (NY's working rhythm-section ) great lyrical playing.....sometimes it seems that Bill & Larry tending more playin' in the background and let Jonathan play.... i brought his record in my fav local record-store, nobody ever heard from him in my area.... one of the best records i brought in the last nine months......and the first record this year made me start transcribe out some nice chord changes and lines..... i love this record .....anybody else? greeetz from switzerland!
