  1. richard davis-dealin'....nice album from 1973ish.
  2. well i would probably characterize airto as annoying on every single album he is on where he plays percussion rather than drums. i like him as a drummer but find him an intrusive percussionist. just because you can play a water buffalo's jawbone doesn't mean it makes "bitches brew" sound better.
  3. so sweet rain is not a favorite of most people? my cent on captain marvel is that airto is annoying.
  4. wayne shorter lead ther best fusion bands of the 80s...live at least. studio albums...meh.
  5. if you click it takes you to that 2 girls 1 cup thing?
  6. way i feel is only rollins i feel sort of sucks. some is meh...but this is just not good. anyway over in the vinyl area i just posted about this italian LP i picked up...live rollins from late 77. guess it isn't an "official" release, but pretty good compared to the studio albums of the time...eddie marshall, don pate, mike wolff or wofford, aurell ray.
  7. I WAS SUPPORTING YOU (in some mild way), DUDE.
  8. let me clarify that i do not support racism in any form and i am not anti-canadian. i am just saying if one were to criticize bluenote182 for his behavior these are not what i would first complain about. i think these comments might have been misconstrewn or overblown though i do not read the political threads very DEEPly. plus political threads raise ire levels in general so overblow rhetoric would not be unexpected. nevermind i see this new post above mine and i guess comments were not overblow or misconstrewn. oops.
  9. there can be a "blog" section. chuck, larry kart, jsngry, chewy and bluenote182 can have the inagaural blogs. not a terrible idea?
  10. i also support to a degree your directed anti-canadian anger just because sometimes i feel like I KNOW MY COUNTRY SUCKS! THANK YOU FOR YOUR DEMORALIZING OUTSIDER ANALYSIS! I LIVE HERE AND I DO NOT NEED YOUR COMMENTS! IT DOES NOT HELP ME PUT ON MY BOXERS EVERY MORNING AND BRUSH MY TEETH! I GET IT...WE ARE EVIL! but still....you must chill. it is nice you want to provoke thought but know there are men who have thought what you have thought already because what you are thinking is not as deep as you might think, in many cases.
  11. i did not find your useage of "boy" offensive (and i identify myself more as black than white) since it is common verse to be like "yo holla at your boy" if you want someone to call their drug dealer or something. however, you say it is a pain to sift through old posts to find topics but you are making it even harder by making redundant threads! maybe start your own thread in the miscellaneous topic section called like "bluenote182 uncensored and off da hook" where you can post all your thoughts about everyone that you do not want to add to already existing threads.
  12. why is the search engine beneath you? do you think you are better than me?
  13. cliff i was responding to holy ghost! i was just too lazy to find and quote his quote within this thread. respect.

i thought cliffordo would throw in a milton suggs plug right there! missed chance!
  15. you don't know who norman connors is??? don't you like that sanders impulse! stuff? he played with sanders and sam rivers and lead some classic (but overrated) spiritual jazz late 60s kind of albums with hancock, etc. i thought you liked black unity a lot for some reason. isn't connors the drummer on that?
  16. just picked up satanic for $12. probably not worth it but was in good condition and this thread was fresh in my mind. and if cliffordo says the albums are tough to find, i guess it was a good grab! music is good so far...not too fusion-ey considering jeff berlin is on bass. eh maybe a bit. not really.
  17. chew, shalom. what is shittin'? this album has been reissued on CD by some french people. it sounds like a needle drop. good spacy funky jazz. not great but interesting. good dwight dickerson on the keys. there is a sister album called "a glass of water, i think, which has not come out on CD.
  18. nikk sixx, you probably should look into buying a decent firewire or usb interface. do they have craigslist in saxony? i think you do not want something made by m-audio since you do not want pro tools it sounds like (say you don't want more software, plus that would set you back $$$). um who else makes a decent interface? alesis, i think? but i think if you buy a decent interface you would be ok. it should have all sort of jack inputs for instruments and mics, etc. but it will be more than $200 unless you go used. you don't want to go through a bad soundcard if this is a real endeavor.
  19. shalom. what is shittin'? a friend desired to hear a days between so i found a 93 show online and downloaded it for him. did not listen myself as i am sure it was not something i would have found soulful and swinging, etc. however i also pulled out some old discs to burn for him along with the 93 show. i put on 12/6/73 which was enjoyable. i think i had it on while i cooked sangria and avacado salad. then i put on some winterland '74 seastones into some trippiness. those were good. i listened to a classic '79 show and it did nothing for me no more (cape cod) and also a family dog '69 show which i enjoyed and could see listening to again. i thought i liked '76 but then i put on a june '76 show and it had too much songing and not enough jamming, etc. 12/6/73, that is a heady dank dark star where goodchux thankfully plays some electric piano.
  20. my favorite is return of the 5000 lb man. i generally do not like vocals and this album has some singing but it is very nice. good players on it-persip, buster williams, etc. the version of giant steps is beautiful. was this post-stroke? rrk seems pretty laid back. which is maybe why i like it. i have the latin one people are discussing. it is fun. some of it wears pretty thin but the good parts are worth relistening to.
  21. are you confusing purple night and night of the purple moon in your comments? purple night has a weird ghostly sound to it. purple moon does not. but sun ra plays wurlitzer, etc on purple moon. purple night is mostly piano heavy with a little synth.
