  1. I don't think being extremely vain prevents you from doing the odd bit of charity work, I mean look at Bono, well maybe don't look at him, that's what he wants you to do. I would also add, that in the whole becoming a cliche and a shadow of their former selves race, Bruce and Aerosmith would be pretty much neck and neck.
  2. Sorry, but I have that set, where does it say that it was 20-bit K2 remastered, I don't remember seeing that printed anywhere. Not that I'm doubting you or anything. Unless there was a Japanese only release of this one; then I don't think this set was 20-bit K2 remastered, mine says it was done by Kirk Felton in 2000. I think you might be mistaking it for the Bill Evans Complete V.V. set, which was 20-bit K2 remastered. Either way it's a great set.
  3. Aerosmith fans might, but you kinda missed the point of the post. :w
  4. Nice. I hope this transfer actually happens, as this guy is really very good. Liverpool move fast to sign Raul Meireles from Porto for £10.7m
  5. I see, so it was one of those "you had to be there" type of moments, which, IMHO, you kinda have to be there for to really get, otherwise it's just another live concert. I think maybe my issue with Springsteen is because the first time I became aware of him was around the "Born in the USA" era, when he went truly global. Also I remember reading something indirectly about Springsteen that always stuck with me, I think it was Joe perry of Aerosmith in an interview about the "music business", he said one of the first big lessons he learned about how hard/unfair it is, was that Aerosmith and Springsteen were both signed to Columbia around the same time but for every $1 they were putting into Aerosmith they were putting like $100 into Springsteen. Maybe he was different in the early days but I've never been able to get past his vainity and the limitations of his music.
  6. Sorry, but I have that set, where does it say that it was 20-bit K2 remastered, I don't remember seeing that printed anywhere. Not that I'm doubting you or anything.
  7. I prefer the Who's version of "Summertime Blues" a lot more. I never really "got" Bruce, he always seemed a little over wrought, over earnest, over the top... but maybe that's what people like about him.
  8. I don't know why I'm only thinking of this now but, who cut the cheese?
  9. OK, so it's not as glamourous; Europa League Draw. Group A Juventus Manchester City Salzburg Lech Group B Atlético Madrid Bayer Leverkusen Rosenborg Aris Group C Sporting Lisbon Lille Levski Sofia Gent Group D Villarreal Club Brugge Dinamo Zagreb PAOK Group E AZ Alkmaar Dynamo Kyiv BATE Borisov Sheriff Group F CSKA Moscow Palermo Sparta Prague Lausanne Group G Zenit St Petersburg Anderlecht AEK Athens Hajduk Split Group H Stuttgart Getafe OB Young Boys Group I PSV Eindhoven Sampdoria Metalist Debrecen Group J Sevilla Paris St-Germain Borussia Dortmund Karpaty Lviv Group K Liverpool Steaua Bucharest Napoli Utrecht Group L Porto Besiktas CSKA Sofia Rapid Vienna
  10. Nope, this is the feelgood hit of this, or any other summer.
  11. More about Mascherano being a dick; Masch suffers player backlash And it seems to be catching on; Stoke City manager Tony Pulis reads riot act as 'disrespectful’ Asmir Begovic stokes fire
  12. It's like the fast-food companies are having these kinda marketing/production meetings and saying "well sure, we're killing people, but couldn't we kill them, y'know, faster?" :g
  13. Sorry, but I wasn't aware of any disagreements, just different opinions, however I fail to see how anyone could be seriously worried about any team after 2 games. I'm pretty sure Liverpool don't need sympathy at this stage, they just need some new owners. Here's some perspective for you; Roy Hodgson stands by Mascherano Liverpool omission. Liverpool stuck in suspended animation without new investment
  14. Have it BOTH ways: Burger King's 2,500 calorie answer to that age-old take-away dilemma - pizza or burgers?
  15. I was disappointed with the Liverpool performance they never really got started and City didn't really have to earn the win, but to say the team is in trouble is way off the mark. It's 2 games into the season and they're in trouble??? And to be honest, Mascherano's head was turned by interest from Barcelona, like last year when they wanted to buy him and couldn't afford him, just like now, but he has clearly stated he wants to leave England, so that's not really news, what was different was this time he asked not to be selected for the game, which is very unprofessional. Roy Hodgson vents anger at Javier Mascherano for skipping defeat If I was a West Ham or Wigan fan I might be worried, not because of the way they started this season but more due to the fact that it's very similar to the way they finished last season. Blackpool are pretty much doomed anyway but that's partly down to themselves really, their stadium isn't even ready FFS, but that 3rd place play-off thing might be exciting to watch but it usually puts a team that's not PL quality into the PL, it's stupid. After a World Cup it's always a bit funny for a while and you won't really know the strenght of anyone's squad until all the comings and going are sorted out next Tuesday when the transfer window closes.
  16. Just how much of a dickhead is Craig Bellamy, obviously a very big one. Craig Bellamy banned by Manchester City
  17. It's already been released. That's kinda what I meant by saying that this is the shape of things to come, it's pretty much the way things are going to be for the next 5 to 10 years.
  18. Up for addition of a mint, still sealed, Giuffre Mosaic.
  19. Eh, it's only the first game of the season, relax a bit. :g
  20. It's been released on CD by Rare Live Recordings, I was tempted to get it and I am now even more tempted, the sound samples on Amazon don't really encourage me though...
  21. Ditto to all that and I think it's also worth mentioning that Pepper played at a consistently high level for the whole of his career, even his early recordings, ie predating the Contemporary stuff, are amazing, especially the session with Jack Montrose. I really love that one, there's a real Konitz/Marsh vibe to it. He had his "thing" down very early on.
