  1. I always remember Robert Plant's remark about Jeff Beck: "Jeff Beck...the most expressive guitarist in rock...with nothing to express..."
  2. So sorry to hear of your loss, papsrus. He sure was a cutie-boy... You both were lucky to have one another. Hang in there bud...
  3. Saw a copy of that first Henry Cow album yesterday at the used Lp store. $18... I'll need to re-listen to my MP3 copy again to see if it's a must buy or not...
  4. "Mr. Dudley"? 'Bout Soul is essential...to me at least.
  5. Howdy Dan, I'd like these 3 please: Gloria Coleman Big John Patton Stanley T - Mr. Natural
  6. I'm just now starting to listen to Chet Atkins, but then, I guess that's not really jazz.... I sure love how the original Living Stereo RCA records sound. I found some minty ones of his recently. I'm diggin' that "In Hollywood" album. How would some of you categorize Chet Atkins' music? Country? Americana? Pop? Jazzwise? I really dig Kenny Burrell. Midnight Blue is a perfect album, at least for me. I'd like to hear more Jim Hall too.
  7. I'd have to find one for myself first! Never heard it...; am I missing out? I see AMG gives it 2 1/2 stars... I ended up liking this Boplicity version of The Connection (Blue Note) I found better than that Conn above, but it's not this one pictured I found on AMG but all info seems to point to the Blue Note one. This cover mentions Howard McGhee...:

  9. Isn't it the only live recording of this preserved...? Wait...I think that would read better as: Isn't this the only live recording of it preserved...?
  10. Nice to see that smile too. I'm smiling too. And...I wasn't before. Now I am.
  11. Foo Fighters & Weezer at the Pepsi center a couple years back... Gave my wife chest pains. I think it was that concert that helped me decide that I had probably seen enough Foo Fighters concerts...but then Dave & co. still continue to amaze me. Perhaps I should have tried their unplugged tour...
  12. Oops, I mean to say, these are the ones I downloaded... Those 2 45 Revolutions Per Minute tracks are just a joke that was barely funny the first time...

  14. Still available, now with reduced prices: Bley, Carla - Dinner Music - WATT/6 - VG+/VG+ - $8 (I'm always so worried Ms. Bley is gonna burn her hands! ) How about $5? Corea, Chick w/ Vitous & Haynes - Trio Music - ECM 2-1232 - 2 LP set - promo - VG/VG+ - $8 How about $6?
  15. I only d/l'd the bonus tracks, as I have all the albums proper on either DCC gold cds or AP SACDs. That said, I really enjoyed the bonus tracks. And the guitar sound on some of the live tracks was just tremendous. Real gritty, cranked to 11 and threatening to feedback with overload... Way cool... Okay...so I didn't download the two 45 Revs per Minute tracks...; meh...if you've heard 'em once, that's enough.
