  1. 1st place in the NL West changes again... Giants losing big in the 9th...L.A. and Arizona win I really like Vogelsong, who has been amazingly consistent, steady, and stingy, yet he's had back to back bad outings after a long string of good ones.
  2. Chuck, I opened my weekly broadcast with Vonski set of four songs....the first 3 off of the Premonition CD's which I had Mr. Freeman on the show for when they were released, culminating with the Blues off of this one. Thanks!
  3. It's certainly curious as you point out, yet when it's all said and done, it's all part of Melky and his handlers going all out to set up things for his upcoming contract negotiations, and the entire thing blew up big time. Ironically Bay Area Comcast Sports (now vidicated) reporter Andrew Baggarly got wind of the dirty test and reported on it 3 weeks ago and aplologized to Cabrera because he did not get complete official confirmation before he made it public. http://www.thepostgame.com/features/201208/melky-cabrera-andrew-baggarly-drug-test-san-francisco-giants-csn-bay-area
  4. He beat the Yanks a few weeks ago and was brilliant, congrats to a good pitcher. He's a very good pitcher, but when he beat the Yanks, he hit Suzuki, hit Jeter, and hit A-Rod and broke his hand. The Yanks never or very rarely retaliate for stuff like this. Don't understand that at all. No more games with the Mariner's this season; would have to think someone is keeping score...
  5. This is the type of production any team would hope for in a trade deadline deal.....a return to form indeed: A three-time All-Star, (Hanley) Ramirez struggled offensively this season while with the Marlins, batting .246 in 93 games. The former NL batting champion has enjoyed a resurgence in his 22 games with the Dodgers, batting .322 with 23 RBIs.
  6. Hey Guys, Let's not talk any more about Melky Cabrera OK? I wouldn't want to bother anyone who thinks that this most recently suspended cheater may not have any influence whatsoever in what has transpired thus far in the NL with 45 games to play in the regular season at the time of his ouster, the standings in the NL pennant, wild card races, and ultimately the deciding 7th game of the 2012 World Series (if needed) which will be played in the NL city due in no small part by the All-Star Game MVP. Your milage may vary....
  7. How would you like to be the American League team that goes to the World Series knowing they will not have home field advantage based upon All-Star game MVP Melky Cabrera? The ridiculousness of your query is all one needs to observe in order to understand that the AL (or any league, for that matter) deserves what it gets thanks to Buuuuuud. Give it a rest! Jetman, ridiculousness is as ridiculousness does. This year the all-star game is BUD_Squared....this one REALLY counts. Good comeback. Home field means jack to begin with. Secondly, I don't see any NL team this year beating the AL team that makes the World Series. Thanks....followed by a weaker reply by you JET Memories can be short....ask the Texas Rangers. Do you think after the crushing, epic game 6 loss in the World Series, they'd have preferred getting a shot at game 7 at home? Oh wait!! It was played at the home field of the 2011 All-Star winning National League.

  10. This was before your time but we once had a dedicated steroid thread for Bonds. Mod Larry Kart wasted too much of time trimming out the obscenities and such as it reflected poorly on the band that this site is named for. I believe it was eventually locked. Anyway, nothing will convince Goodspeak that Bonds was a user, that 'roids cause a ball to travel farther, and so on. Yeah, I know. So while you didn't get to "enjoy" this discussion maybe it'd be better not to go back into the past of PED use in baseball, as you'd have better luck changing the "mind" of the wall across from you than that of Goodspeak. And you conveniently forget Dan's obtrusive abusiveness during that entire exchange...really? OK. Here's the deal: I couldn't care less if Bonds was a PEDs user. He is the HR King because he could hit the ball. PEDs had nothing to do with it. Period. End of conversation. Schwartz, OTOH, has this fixation on me and whatever I say. He has made it his mantra to bring up Bonds every chance he gets. A gerbil has better sense. A troll, however, has a need to be this continual jerk with nothing better to do than goad other posters on this BBS. It is an amazing and persistent thing and fodder for a psychologist's appointment. Why, I couldn't hazard a guess. Where, indeed, is the Moderator, Mike? Now you and Mike need to lay off. Today...as in immediately. I don't do this shit to either of you. MODERATOR PLEASE!! I put up serious stats, photos & the like and make a few points regarding cheating players based on the news regarding recently suspended Cabrera. Goodspeak holds a different (and kind of strange) take on things based on that these are his opinions ( period as he states), which he's entitled, but seasons his comebacks with insults and name calling. He further states that I bring up Bary Bonds 'every chance I get' which is absurd, as I never mentioned the guy on this board once in 8 years until the other day when a player from the same team was suspended for using banned substances, which prompted using his name . Is that some sort of crime at Organissimo? We were both asked to chill on another matter by a moderator and I've done what was asked. Just a couple of posts ago, Goodspeak asks other posters to 'jump' me. What kind of nonsense is that?

A similar "conversation" happened elsewhere too. No matter...the photos (and records) of the yolked up freaks above says it all.
  12. One more....absolute proof that PED's have nothing to do with a line drive hitting guy with decent power who developed himself into the only player in basball history to have three 60+ HR seasons....and was caught using a corked bat to boot, but it was only batting practice The 5 years prior to the big race with Mark McGuire chasing Roger Maris' historic & legit record 61 HR's that stood for close to 4 decades, he hit a very respectable 170 home runs and had 501 RBI. The next 5 *enhanced* years (starting with the Maris chase year with his cheating friend Mark McGuire) he hits 292 HR and has 705 RBI Drum roll please..... ( it may be water under the bridge to you, but these cheating POS need to be remembered for what they did plain & simple.
  13. No peronal attacks please....where's the moderators around here? Giants are 27th in MLB in fielding at the moment out of 30 teams, and were last much of the first half, and are currently 5th in the NL in pitching. Are you implying that Melky's .350+ average most of this season had little to do with being as high in the standings as they have been? Absolutely no connection to PED & home run hitting whatsoever
  14. Possibly the post-season as well... http://espn.go.com/m...pended-50-games On "bright side" (such as it is...) to this - he's copping to the offense and not offering excuses or looking for obfuscations: "Forced" or not, there's always those who will look to play games and buy time. Not this guy (and in this case, his union), and for that, hey, good on him. Figures. Giants just can't catch a break. "The Giants have a knack for attracting players who are: (1) prone to cheat, and (2) ignorant and/or arrogant enough to get caught. Cabrera is the third Giant to receive a 50- or 100-game suspension under baseball's new testing procedures, the most of any team. Guillermo Mota (100 games, earlier this year) and catcher Eliezer Alfonzo (50 in 2008) are the others...." http://espn.go.com/m...sting-peds-work There's also an article about it in today's Times, http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/17/sports/baseball/melky-cabrera-suspension-again-tarnishes-giants-reputation.html?_r=1&ref=sports Yeah, but here's the deal: The PEDs didn't begin with the Giants for Mota, Alfonzo or Cabrera. The Giants just happened to be the team they were on when they got caught. Look at Cabrera's numbers in KC; a big spike from Atlanta. If the argument is he began doing PEDs in SF explain to me the jump in his numbers in KC. Anybody attempting to make some sort of specious connection between PEDs and the Giants organization needs to consider deep therapy. That Bonds bullshit in the NYT and ESPN sources is a decade old now...get over it. Not to argue any of the points you've made. Perhaps the Giants have simply hired 3 of the dumbest MF'ers in MLB in recent times. Are you still a Bonds PED denier? Heard the former multi-time all star Dale Murphy do an interview recently; suggested that teams with players caught like Melky should be penalized as well as the players, and thought that 1st time violators should get a 162 game suspension. It makes sense; teams do not have a real stake in policing, teaching and discouraging cheaters to go along with the players union involved in the current testing. Melky rolled the dice and the Giants are in 1st place with 45 games to play in the regular season, with a guy who has performed so way ahead of any other season in his major league tenure, to be almost unbelievable compared to any other he's had. Now everyone knows why... Perhaps the team caught with a cheater gets knocked 20 games in the standings, or is dropped in the standings. I think Dale Murphy is onto something, suggesting a team punishment to go along with player punishment.
  15. With the All -Star game counting towards which league gets home field advantage in the World Series, they should change the outcome to the old method of team with the best record, since the MVP of the contest just got caught cheating. They won't do it, but they SHOULD do it!
