The head of their football program (among others) covered up, which allowed Sandusky to carry out raping young children and was convicted on 45 counts....these freaking idiots are crying foul and lawyering up on a matter that is not subject to appeal. My Japanese colleagues are all very impressed both by the performance of Team GB and the London Olympics in general. The consensus seems to be that the games have been a great success thus far. I heard on BBC radio yesterday that some are referring to the London Olympics as "The Crying Games" with so many participants who have been winning that have burst into tears

My Astros are 36-73, dead last in Major League Baseball. For the second year in a row. There's maybe one player on the team that would even be tradeable at this point (Jose Altuve), but I believe he's who they're hoping to build around. It's gonna be 3-4 years before they're even competitive if they're lucky, and oh by the way they're also switching to the AL, involuntarily. So the need a DH. Don't really have any bats on the team. Nor any decent pitchers. Baseball isn't much fun to watch for an Astros fan. Bring on football! My son in law is from Houston and a diehard Astro fan. When it's all said & done, Schierholtz is probably a pretty happy guy. He's produced in spurts, but never had the chance to be a full time guy and get a lot of plate appearances , to prove if he is really is an every day guy at this level. At least for the rest of this year, he gets to audition for every day play, which he's never received in SF. He's a very good right fielder with a strong and accurate arm. Phil's traded away 2 starting outfielders and got one back....no big deal.
