Does anyone have this album? Jazzz (yes three z's) Records. With Mundell Lowe on guitar.

If you do have a copy of this could I ask you to please scan and post the cover in the biggest dpi file you think the post will take. Thanks.

I just got this album (no sleeve) and it's wonderful. Sure would like to know what the cover looked like.

This album was reissued on Concord CJ41 under the title 'Richie'.

A beautiful album. The Jazzz LP had an ugly brownish sketch on its cover.

I have the Concord LP. I will try to scan it if it will fit on my scanner. My recollection is that there is not much to the cover.

I have the JAZZZ issue. It's a great album, one of my desert island discs. If need be I can photograph the cover but don't expect top quality. PM me if I can help.

What is wrong with these thimblebrains at Concord? They are sitting on three (3) Richie Kamuca albums with no sign whatsoever that they intend to reissue them at any point in the near (of far) future. With some of the crap they sling around, you'd think they'd have time for this. Wish there was some way Mosaic could license these recordings. Boy, would they make for a nice Select or what? Throw in "Tenors Head On" to round things out and away you go.

Up over and out.

I have been told that these 3 sessions were licensed by Concord and have since reverted back to the Kamuca estate. The Kamuca family apprently hasn't licensed them back out.

Kevin,

First of all, I'm glad to see you posting here again. Second, call Michael C. immediately and see if there's anything he can do. I've had a Jones for these recordings for so long I can't even remember when it started. I can tell you one thing...36 hour Levitra can't hold a candle to what I'm going through.

Up over and out.

Kamuca appears very briefly on Ray Browns very uneven "Browns Bag".(Concord too) The bulk of the album is wrecked by Dave Grusin and huge dolops of fromage. Ray does his best to rise above it but.....Uggh....

add the Kamuca tracks to make an even nicer Select

Richie Kamuca, according to AMG, has 11 leader dates from various labels. This would make an excellent Mosaic project, akin to the Serge Chaloff Mosaic. One can never have too much Kamuca, an often ignored player, in my view.

How is the sound quality on the Richie Kamuca - Roy Eldridge set? I see its been reissued on disc - looks like a CDR release - would like to hear if anyone has links to sample

Thanks

I have this LP and as I said in another thread, the sound quality varies for each recording date. I didn't think the sound was terrible and it's certainly worth hearing.

That CD is a straight-up bootleg of a bootleg LP. It's probably a needle-drop of the LP. I would not pay $20 for a CD-R of a needle-drop of an LP. :)
