First pressings of 'Devotion' were mfgd. and distributed by Pickwick, with 'Douglas' in large script on the record label. The vinyl quality wasn't very good but hey, we were playing it at max volume and smokin' up the joint.

Mine seems to be an actual Douglas pressing - a promo copy, in fact, which I had forgotten.

Now playing:

Duke Ellington - Up in Duke's Workshop (Pablo)

A coupla Sun Ra Saturns:

Hiroshima. An epic organ solo, recorded on "Mighty Mo" - the organ at the Fox Theater here in Atlanta.

The Sound Mirror. One side is a sermon, delivered over the "Mayan Temples" riff. The other side is from the great 1978 quartet tour of Europe that produced Disco 3000, Media Dream, New Steps, and Other Voices, Other Blues.

edit to add: I have had this since it was first issued but had not listened for over 20 years. It was engineered by Malcolm Addey in the Vanguard studio in August of 1984. This is probably the worst representation of Clifford's sound I have ever heard. What a shame.

Had this record, never liked it much, and sold/traded it years ago. Don't remember the sound specifically, but it never clicked for me.
