clifford_thornton
agreed, I used to have those in lesser condition - didn't keep as I'd like to hear the music without a ton of surface noise.

Homefromtheforest
Ray Russell - June 11, 1971 Live at the ICA - (RCA Victor UK) Used to have a mint Japanese pressing of that. In a moment of stupidity I sold it years ago Right now: Benny Bailey "soul eyes" (MPS, Japan)
clifford_thornton
Yeah I thought there was a Japanese issue of it. The UK has a few poots and clicks, despite being very clean, but what can you do?
jeffcrom
Don Elliott - Music for the Sensational Sixties (Design). Fun, goofy music. Hal McKusick's bass clarinet solos add some substance. The cover makes me smile, and so did the music this morning. paul secor
David "Honeyboy" Edwards: Mississippi Delta Bluesman (Folkways) Signed by Mr. Edwards from back in the days before I came to feel that musicians' time is too valuable to waste it signing autographs for people like me. Homefromtheforest
Toshi Ichiyanagi/Michael Ranta/Takehisa Kosugi "improvisation 1975" (iskra, Japan). Probably one of the rarest records in my collection and one of my favorite "avant garde" records. The original pressing sounds 10 times better then the bootlegs more commonly available

Probably one of the rarest records in my collection and one of my favorite "avant garde" records. The original pressing sounds 10 times better then the bootlegs more commonly available It's the only bootleg in my collection, I think. I loathe those cheaply produced counterfeits the reissue market is flooded with (think Phoenix records for this kind of music). But this is a record I really want and I still haven't found a copy at a price I could afford. So the boot is there on the shelf. Mind you, I refuse to play it. It's just waiting to be replaced by the real thing. Edited March 13, 2015 by corto maltese

clifford_thornton
I have the Iskra/Cortical LP of Improvisation September 1975 as well - interesting record, and since I'll never be able to find/afford an original, it'll have to do. I love that album and the complete "on the corner" CD box set is simply incredible Have been spinning that set this week and agree. Just too bad that Bob Belden didn't get the permission to put out the 2x4CD sets ! I think the previously unreleased material from the later sessions included in that set is mostly underwhelming. The introduction price was inflated. What material would have been on those 2x4CD sets, Sidewinder?
Clunky
Don Rendell/ Ian Carr Quintet-----------Live at the Union------(Stamford Audio) Slightly dusty recording but generally exciting 2LP set . The Folk Club used to use this space.

colinmce
I'm not Paul but I wouldn't label it as essential. As the title might indicate, it's pretty much a blowing date. The Mo'tet Soul Note is much, much better.
